Previous post was suppose to be in reply to AntiChrist "how do I redeem myself, but it did make me reread his post and saw a paragraph on Ron Paul. He is nothing like the Libertarian Party, because he wants to get rid of the military. Libertarian premise being to PROTECT OUR BOUNDARIES, OVER THERE (wherever "there" may be) NOT HERE.

When did Ron Paul ever say he wanted to get rid of the military? I don't think that ever happened.

Default While on the subject of votes we regret...

Anyone want to 'fess up to voting for Jimmy Carter in 1976?

I did just that, although to be fair I'm not sure Ford would have been much better.

And I voted for McGovern when I was a graduate student in 1972. I thought Nixon would be an unmitigated disaster! (I was right about that, but for the wrong reason.)

Most of the people around me were SDS quasi-Marxist types. I wasn't quite in that category, but was well to the left of center.

My error, I should have said cut back on military, but this video makes me concur a bit more with Mr Paul. He says cut back on military but not on defense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8-g1oiz57M Still not sure if I agree totally as we do need the manpower overseas to oversee the antagonist there, not here in America, that being said, I do believe he would have been a great choice for a free America. But seeing as he is a pioneer in the political world with a vision that a lot of citizens are still assimilating, he is not there yet. But hey, there is 2016/2020, and of course, Rand Paul because at 81/85 Ron Paul will almost certainly not run. I'm sure it will be 2020 though as Mr Romney is exposing himself, finally, (I find him to be a very humble man) as man who can change things around and get the job done. GO ROMNEY

Not rambling just passionate

Why should he be consider a suck up because he clarified the tone of his response?

Just continue to vote your conscience. That is what the vote is for.
A Libertarian vote or any other outsider is a vote for Oboma.

And as long as we keep buying that line of BS from the MSM, we'll keep getting crappy presidents like Bush and Obama. And Romney, maybe.

But I've already said that if it looks like my vote may give the presidency to Obama, I'll vote for Romney, but it had damn well better be close. I don't want to live with the consequences of a Romney administration that much more than an Obama one.

Listening to NPR today and I heard the female interviewer talking to a GOP rep. She tried to lead him by wanting to talk about the things that R^2 want to accomplish. She mentioned cutting Medicare and changing Social Security beyond recognition. He nailed her right back when he corrected her about "cutting" Medicare. The only cutting has come from Obama and if, as she said, the seniors wanted to leave it alone it would be gone in 14 years. He also corrected her on SS by saying that it was also heading to insolvency if left alone. She tried a couple of times to get her interpretation in but gave up and wanted to talk about the fun they were going to have in Tampa. Slimey NPR reporters!

Also COG, if you vote for Romney then you are blameless. We've been pushed to this corner by Obama. Kind of like Butch and Sundance on the cliff over the river, we really don't have much choice and one of us can't swim.

So who do you want to be? Newman or Redford?

Well, *blush* I naturally look a lot more like Paul Newman.

After a long, serious illness.
