You are wrong.

Japan has not yet featured in these discussions.

It was not Churchill who was defeated, but the conservatives. The government during the war was a coalition led by Churchill.

They issued a correction. How is that parsing or playing games about context?

White House Busted!!

by Keith Koffler on July 28, 2012, 12:38 pm

The White House incorrectly claimed that a bust of Winston Churchill was not removed from the White House when President Obama moved in, insisting with emphatic certainty that it had simply been moved to the residence but then retracting the assertion.

In a “Fact Check” post added to the White House website Friday, White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer scornfully dismissed as “100% false” the “rumor” that Obama had removed the Churchill bust that had presided over the George W. Bush Oval Office and shipped it back to the British.

Turns out Pfeiffer’s was the false statement.

As originally stated by those wild rumormongers, the bust is in possession of the British, at their ambassador’s residence in Washington, presumably awaiting return to the Oval Office should Mitt Romney become president.

It's just a fucking bust. Maybe it was creepy as fuck to look at, if I was president I would remove a creepy looking bust I don't want to stare at everyday.

I guess the press secretary for the British embassy must be lying:

"Says James Barbour, press secretary and head of communications for the British Embassy, “The bust of Sir Winston Churchill, by Sir Jacob Epstein, was lent to the George W. Bush administration from the U.K.’s government art collection, for the duration of the presidency. When that administration came to an end so did the loan; the bust now resides in the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington D.C. The White House collection has its own Epstein bust of Churchill, which President Obama showed to Prime Minister Cameron when he visited the White House in March.” “That’s not really what’s important here,” Barbour said. “Both President Obama and Prime Minister Cameron have repeatedly underlined that our two countries remain the closest of allies. The Churchill Bust story is a silly diversion – let’s get on and focus on seeing who wins most medals in the Olympics.”

Where did I miss the part that they were waiting for Romney to send the bust back to the White House?

The things the partisan blinders make people say.

It's significant because it sends a message about our relationship with Great Britain. Great Britain has traditionally been a strong allie; we're said to have a "special relationship." By rejecting the gift of Churchill's bust, Obama sends a message that he may intend to change our traditionally strong alliance with Great Britain.

The British spend 2 days telling the world they're offended by Romney's comments.

Not to be outdone, American right wing buffoons spend 3 days telling the world how offended the British should be because Obama only has 1 bust of Churchill in the White House when he could have had 2.

COG's right about one thing - this place sure can be entertaining sometimes.

I apologize and I stand corrected.

Churchill was still Prime Minister when Germany surrendered, and then the English voters threw his miserable ass out of office before the war with Japan was concluded.

Not to worry, Romney will save the day again. The British are ready to present Romney with the bust and other gifts, especially after the great things he said about the UK while visiting.

Old-T, it is just a ploy to make the usual wackos appear normal in comparison.

I think TAE and maybe also Bukkake are a potential national security risk, at least according to that article we discussed a few weeks ago, which tried to profile potential risks.

Read this and see how many boxes TAE ticks.

http://start.umd.edu/start/publicati...STerrorism.pdf

Read pages 9 and 10.

Even that report does not consider the possibility that some potential terrorists are Hitler lovers.

TAE is definitely on my short list of people most likely to commit an atrocity. All kidding aside, his views remind me of the writings of Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber. I would not be at all surprised if he was schizophrenic like Kaczynski. I'M NOT KIDDING. TAE is not stupid; he is crazy.
