Take a look around and check out all of the other historical relics of other religions that have been destroyed by the religion of peace.
I don't have wonder how they would feel or react to the destruction of Mecca.

My apologies. The topic was just so shocking that well, it was hard to believe.

Why in the world would anyone wish to destroy something like this that is so unique and just so interesting? joe bloe, and others, are probably right.

VERY sad.

So what do you do? Military force? Who bells the cat?

Recall that the Soviet Union tried to take Afghanistan, and failed MISERABLY, courtesy of US-supplied Stinger missiles. (Afghanistan was one of the crucial campaigns in the 70 Year War between the United States and the Soviet Union. We won.)
The world needs to stop pretending that Islam is a legitimate religion. It isn't. The non-Islamic countries need to ban immigration of Muslims. Islam is spreading all over the world largely because of immigration. The Islamic countries are unfit to live in because Islam has ruined their culture. The Muslims immigrate to the western world to escape their own backward countries, and then proceed to ruin their new home by infecting it with Sharia law.

Islam is a metastasizing cancer.

Simple first step for the UN (of which I am not a fan) would be to issue a condemnation and a warning. That makes it official instead of doing nothing. If the Taliban persists then any country ran by the Muslim Brotherhood can be expelled from the UN deliberative bodies. Later they could condemn radical Islam as a terrorist organization. If it becomes necessary then a UN peace keeping (artifact perservation) force to protect antiquities. Remember the condemnation over Iraq? The UN dogged the US for not protecting museum pieces so why is the Taliban sacred? We could just cut to the chase and have the west declare all out war on Islam and treat it like a cancer with chemo and radiation.

if the muzzies were smart they'd set up terrorist training camps around the pyramids and our government would destroy everything for 3 square miles, and rather than gripe about leveling one of the wonders of the world we could dance in the streets cause we busted up some raghead ass ...

Tom Tancredo, former Republican congressman, said that America should put the Jihadists on warning, that if they ever detonate a nuclear bomb on American soil, that we would nuke Mecca. It sounded like a really good idea to me.

Obviously we want to prevent any type of nuclear attack on US soil...I think everyone can agree to that

But threatening to nuke a place (mecca), with innocent people (yea innocent goes beyond US citizens) merely results in us playing terrorist as well....plain and simple

As much as I oppose war, if Congress issues a Declaration of War, then it is the duty of the military to end the war as quickly as possible with the lowest loss of life to Americans. Whatever it takes.

But I doubt our oil companies will allow an attack on Saudi Arabia under any circumstances.

No, it's called war. Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't acts of terrorism. Innocent people die in war. It's the nature of the beast.

Joe bloe....huge difference as we were in a state of war against the country of Japan....blowing up a city, in a declared war, is in fact the dark side of war

However blowing up a city, because of a terrorist act is not only a stupid act, but an immoral act as well

COG, a declared war against a country is one thing...ie the Japan example given

Blowing up a city because of terrorist act is totally another thing

Side note...Unfortunately the oil companies would probably approve of such as thing....it would then give them the exucse of raising oil prices 100x. (This comment is semi-tongue in check)

I agree. I don't think we should be engaging in military activities around the world without a declaration of war. We can't just "guess" who attacked, and then run off and start killing people. We would need definite congressional action, that is, a clearly stated declaration of war with a clearly defined enemy. Then, and only then, we go out to win as quickly and decisively as possible.

If a terrorist attacks the US with a nuke we should declare war against Islam. The terrorists exist because of the support of Islamic nations. We should go after them just as hard as we did Japan and Germany where many innocent civilians died. Until they come to hate the idea of continued war this will not stop. As long as they can use the terrorists to fight a proxy war without getting their own hands bloody they will continue. Destroy every building and location that supports the Muslim religion.
