I will agree that the dramatic license being taken by everyone in the media on both sides can be a bit absurd. However, I still think the the government should have to be open and disclose what they have done. The only exception being national security items. Protecting disclosure of advice which is what they are claiming is silly. If the advice was bad hopefully it was ignored, if not then whoever took the advice has to answer for it. Light is a great disinfectant and the government needs a lot of cleaning.

if Im not mistaken Issa and company began the investigation saying Fast and Furious was a threat to national security ..

ask Issa now and he's like Perry in the vid ... He doesnt know.

which leads me in the direction of political witch hunt

The investigation is valid, even if Issa is an idiot.

it would have stronger legs if Issa could inform the country exactly what it is hes trying to prove ...

give me ALL your documents so I can sif through them and see if I can find something I dont like is no more than politics 101 ... aka bullshit.

If you watched the vids you would have seen Cheney explain EP (how he escaped an investigation)

I just got home from work. I'll watch them later. Maybe.

I still don't see how that justifies ignoring a subpoena. Issa is not the only one on the committee.

Obama don't need no independent counsel.

He got him a can of EP and is serving up some fuck off soup to Issa!

Ok, I watched it. It sounds like we've let Obama slide on a lot of things. It's time for it to stop.

That's what you took from it?

What i took from it is that you've been proven an idiot. Yet again.

Oh, then there's this. I'm shocked (SHOCKED!) that you didn't already link to it.

"A Fortune investigation reveals that the ATF never intentionally allowed guns to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. How the world came to believe just the opposite is a tale of rivalry, murder, and political bloodlust."

Whether you like or dislike Issa is irrelevant. There is a valid question as to why the DOJ misinformed Congress initially and when caught corrected their error. How that occurred and what the people involved did or did not do is a legitimate question. Was there an attempt at a cover up? Did the DOJ try to mislead Congress to protect senior officials? Who was involved in that process? If the error was an honest mistake and corrections to Congress were made quickly then there will be no problem other than what is already known. There is no legitimate reason not to allow an oversight committee to see the documents and the refusal to disclose them is a valid basis to assume a cover up of some nature.

IMO EP was used to protect atf agents and/or the ATF itself .. congress isnt privy to the details of covert operations any of our Intel agencies did or will do.

if the testimony of the 5 ATF agents that just surfaced yesterday holds true Issa and company will vanish like a fart in wind storm ... thats where EP enters the pic.

we'll see.

has congress voted to hold Holder in contempt yet ? ... that could very well be a tell???
