Social interest?

Elgato and I were talking about putting together a little social in the near future and wanted to see what the interest level was before we started making plans.

I will tell you what the interest level will be. Everybody will be so excited and happy that it will be a huge event. That is until the day it happens and then drama will fall from the sky as about 8 people will actually show up.

Well hopefully people will show some intererest. And hopefully they will actually show up if they commit to attend if you do have a Social. Or be considerate enough to give adequate notice of cancellation if they know they are unable to attend in advance.

From what I understand from Col. Zodiak, there were some Dudes that knew up to a week in advance that they would not be attending the Laredo Social. These Rude Dudes waited until a Few Days before the Laredo Social to inform Col. Zodiak that they would not be attending.

I do realize that unforeseen circumstances can & will derail plans to attend a Social. Just my humble opinion, these Rude Dudes that knew in advance they weren't attending the Laredo Social, owe Col. Zodiak an Apology for Flaking Out & waiting a couple of days before the Social to cancel. I have no idea whom the Rude Dudes are.

Col. Zodiak is a Cool Dude, I enjoyed meeting/talking to the Col.

I missed chance to enjoy at the social, it took so long hours drive from El paso, TX to Laredo.

This time it will be a bring your own food and drinks. In the past I have furnished both and had a lot of food and beverages leftover. The last one, both Smith and I lost money. I do not want this to be a money making venture for myself. I just want to break even. This time Smith and I will secure the place and everyone who attends will bring their own food and or refreshments. We will ask the gentlemen to help defray the cost of the venue. I am thinking of early to mid August for the next Corpus GLMI.
