Default Dead can Dance - Sanvean (live)

Music that touches my soul , plus an awesome interview part, too:

“People are desperatly trying to find a way of releasing themselves from this fleshy prison. They turn to you when they see you escaping momentarily- “How did you get out?” And it’s very easy, let the language grow by itself, your own language. You have the ability through arts, tongues, create a dialogue to make you travel to places more beautiful than we’re ever promised.”
- Lisa Gerrard

For me the orgasmic and transpersonal aspects of escorting provides also a method of "escaping momentarily from this fleshy prison" and diving into a space of one-ness with the world, and another person , by the providing possibilities of enhancing spiritual realms and embracing transpersonal sensuality. I think any - even the most simple - orgasm is one of these experiences, too. Like Lisa says " a travel to places more beautiful than we`re promised".

Let me know what you think

Here is the Sarah Brightman Cover. I personally think the original is way better, much deeper..

Sarah Brightman is one of my favorite opera singers, and yes it great. And loved her in the Phantom, though I have only seen video of her performances. I am driving distance to Toronto Theater district and saw Colm Wilkinson twice, as the Phantom and Jean Val Jean (in the 90s), and I really enjoy the theater. I have only been to Broadway once for the Sunset BLVD.

I like Sarah Brightman, too. But in this case she can`t quite hold up to the Original, IMHO. although I love the orchestra surrounding her.
Other than that I have all albums from Sarah Brightman as well . Love her voice.

Sarah Brightman's version I saw, she is spitting out the 'a' vowels at the start like they are bitter lemon, and her voice seems off. It gets better towards the end, but she seems like she had a cold. (A bit nasally as well). I would say that Sarah performs her version as a lullaby, it seems virginal and chaste.

Lisa's version, however, is that of a woman in control of herself, a woman performing an offertory, an outpouring of love and genuine emotion, opening her soul and sharing it with us through the sound of her voice.

I will certainly be investigating more of her music, I like the pure tonal "language" she uses, with vowels and consonants part of the instrument instead of using words. Instead of using the meanings of words to create the emotion, she is using vocal soundings to evoke an emotion that is transcendent in the sense that we place the emotional value on it based on our individual experiences. Therefore, in a way every time we hear the song, the song has a different meaning for us, "creat[ing] a dialogue to make you travel to places more beautiful than we’re ever promised.”

Thanks for posting this, I had heard of DCD, but had never heard their music before.

Ohh, one of my favorites!! I love DCD's live material. Thank you for posting this, now I've discovered that they have a new album, Anastasis. Toward the Within was up there with Portishead in my "favorite sex music" category during college...

You`re welcome! And I have to thank you for your wonderful analyzis. Just reading your post made me learn a lot! I can certainly have a "feel" for music, but I cannot describe what makes me move as wonderful and precise as you do! Thank you!

Thank you for bringing to me a Sarah song that I've not heard before. I found the Lisa Gerrard version pleasant but somewhat raw. Sarah is, as usual, polished. IMHO

If you enjoy DCD and haven't heard: they've reformed and are once again on tour. Their first album of new material in 16 years (Anastasis) is due out next month. Soundcloud for the first single is available at the link.
