This is only speculation, but it is based on a little experience also.
Anytime someone dies and there's not an obvious cause of death, the coroner has to do an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, i.e., run toxicological tests, visual exam for needle marks, obvious things like gunshot wounds, etc., and until that's completed, they usually won't sign off on the death certificate (they can and do sometimes issue one and then later amend it). A death is "questionable" unless there's a bullet hole, stab wound, or an obvious reason for their death.

Somebody pat him on the back!
To quote an old friend named Ducati on another board:
"BURP!"

Anyone want to donate to my business venture?
No you don't get ownership.
No you don't get any value.
No you don't get answers.
I just want your money, no questions asked. Do you need a definition of "donate"?
When I saw that "response" I lost any respect I had for that man.

I decided to transfer my reviews of Providers that are still in the game over here to the ECCIE database. I supposedly have 37 on ASPD but I could only locate 9. Weird.

Boltfan, I thought the same thing when I saw the donation solicitation. I donate to charities for people in need, why would I donate for people trying to make a profit when I obtain no financial reward by doing so?
TexTushHog, I noticed your comment on a thread by Deuce inquiring about getting a return on your "donation." I am sure it is no coincidence that you were quickly banned. I wonder if the guy who posted right after you was banned also because he was much more harsh with his thoughts about a "donation" for others to profit from.

More and more it looks like a scam to me. While they may actually use the money for their new site they are playing on the emotions of the base to solicit money.
Frankly CPI's suggestions were pretty good. I might be willing to "invest" money in a site and I might be willing to pay a reasonable introductory price for lifetime BCD membership. To completely dismiss or even ban those with reasonable questions and suggestions smells of a scam or intent to use the members with emotional ties.
I for one asked for my email to be removed from their solicitation base. Thank goodness I didn't pay for BCD.

Motocrossman, I was never directly informed why I was banned. Finally I decided to roam around the site and apparently it was a one line post. The person in front of me said something like "Amber's family wants the final day of the site to be for remembering Amber."
And I quoted that and added ". . . and for raising money for their new site." I agree it was a bit cheeky, but certainly no more crass than their shilling for money out of one side of their mouth while claiming to want adoration for their dead daughter/sister out of the other.
But Jade came in and saw it and asked the moderators to ban me. I suppose that's the risk of speaking truth to power. I'm reminded of the line, "I've been thrown out of classier joints that this one."
Justanotherguy, I don't think Duece had anything to do with it other than doing what Jade said. He replied to one of my posts, and I sent him a PM or two. He nad I have known each other for a long time (on the boards only). While we don't always agree, I don't think his skin is that thin.

Yeah, I sort of thought the same thing. I own a law firm. We're really doing quite will, but we could do better if you'll send me free money for nothing. Hell, if you send us enough, we'll all retire!!
I wonder why I never thought about that as a way to increase my profitability??!! Just a failure of imagination on my part, obviously.

My ECCIE Reviews

It's like the Third Reich and the last days of Hitler over there...Now they say they will just let it "fade away", but if you ask a question be prepared for some hypersensitive replies...basically if you don't post about how great it's been, then you will be asked to leave.
I'm so disappointed in the way things turned out...apparently, they still have funds to keep going till it 'fades...'
whatever

Come on now. You teaked their noses and they banned you.
Might not have been a wise move on their part, but it's hardly a mystery.

Interesting that you condone that sort of thing. It wasn't only TTH either. There were several that I've talked to that asked questions that were only innocent queries and not a word or warning given. Instant ban and a lot of people wondering WTF happened.
IMHO Nicole Preston hit it on the head!

Let's not forget that someone owns these boards. It does often make sense to run it as a community thing and allow dissenting opinions, some degree of freedom of speech, etc. However, when the owner makes a decision that things will be a certain way, it needs to be that way.
IMHO, TTH was tweaking her nose. Even though it was pretty funny.
She had asked to drop the negative comments for the next few days.
If you don't like what the owners of a particular board do, move on to a different board. Let's not forget that there are boards where you aren't allowed to post reviews of providers. I live within the limits of how the board is managed and participate or don't. I don't let it bother me, I just move on.

So Johnnybax,
As of now you have 158 posts. I would be good money you have posted less than 158 words in those posts.
How about you give up racking up a post count here.
