I prefer to see a quality provider who I might break the bank with somewhat verses spending 80 on a qk whatever. Now after being in the hobby long enough, I do homework and dont mind spend a small fortune on a great lady. Most recently saw two girls together and it empty my pockets a bit but the experience was fantastic! I couldnt have asked for more, so....I would agree Miss Sasha

Charlestudor, thank you for the clarification! I do understand that, but I was actually referring to this:

Another trend that's showing up, is recently we've noticed many providers coming to our area and jumping their rates! While these same providers when in other states (not just their home state) have lower rates. This is almost insulting to us, especially in an economy such as this! Rates should be be dropped accordingly not increased!
I actually agree with Jake; I believe that the ladies should do whatever they want because it's their business. I also believe that the men should refuse to see them if what the ladies are doing doesn't sit well. I just wish that people would stop attacking each other! I might use my magic powers to create an ideal ECCIE board. It might not be as fun as this one, though...

If we didn't have the energetic banter, the make up sex session wouldn't be as good.

I highly doubt that a woman who is asking only $40 for her time is doing it for fame or fun lol. Of course she is not thinking about the escorts who charge higher rates anymore than the 200-300 an hour escorts are worried about undercutting the women who charge 500, or the 500 escorts are worried about those who charge 5K etc etc etc.....I guess my point is there is no such thing as a right, or average rate. How we work, and what we ask for out time is as individual as our clients, and their needs.
So many details go into how we structure our rates. High versus low/ low versus high, one does not make you better than the other it usually just comes down to preference,( do you prefer 1 hr appts to overnights?)effort , and a little bit of luck. if we are fortunate enough to have some financial stability , and to live in an area that can support a higher cost of living we can ask for a rate that we are happy with. Not everyone has that luxury. If they need immediate cash for whatever reason they are naturally going to be offering lower rates until their situation improves.
One of the better things I can say about CL is it has given some women the chance to get off the streets, and hopefully work under safer conditions. If CL is no longer a good place to advertise for some then there are many other sites like eros/CV that do attract clients with different types of budgets. If you consider yourself to be a professional then sometimes the best thing you can do is invest some of the money that you make back in to your own business. This part of it really is up to you, and what you want to make of it , and has little to do with what others do, or how little, or much they charge.
Sorry I had too much coffee this morning

Thanks for your input Becky.
I never actually looked the CL situation like that. I kinda backed away from it after all of the "drama" in the media, not due to the low rates or # of providers. But, I agree that it should offer a safer working environment than the SW scene, which is a wonderful thing. So when you put it like that I have no arguments at all....
Also, I have began to invest more in my business to stand out from the rest, rather than blend in. Posting on sites that attract the type of clientale that I prefer, and it's going well. I can't say that it is an easy task (having to learn everything on your own) but I'm improving.
I don't knock the ladies for doing what they have to do, when they have to do it. We have all been there. My curiousity was more about how the guys felt about seeing the ladies that offer such low rates.
Now, I need a coffee...

Hmmm...I usually don't post responses to these "rate" threads but this one got me to thinking.
I have my therapeutic client base which is my main bread and butter. My "fun" clients are a HUGE plus in a more than a couple of ways! I realize that I will never be rich but that is okay because I enjoy my work and I love what I do!
I read replies that refer to the $160 level ladies being scary or whatever and I would just like to say that I'm sorry you feel that way. That has been my rate for a VERY long time and probably WILL be my rate for a long time. I think that is a good thing for BOTH of us!
At the same time, I realize that I am (as per my entire life!) the exception to the rule. Being a massage provider, my world is completely different from most here.
I guess I am saying, before you judge by rates alone, it might be a good idea to check a ladies history a little bit.
I have noticed that there are more and more ladies popping up lately but there are also a lot that have moved on. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I feel for the work you guys have to go through to find quality relaxation time!

Rates need to take into account the cost of living in an area along with what is being provided.
I usually hobby in MA. A well-reviewed provider there charges $300-$400. But ladies in NH with comparably good reviews charge $200 - $250.
Around MA, I would be a bit concerned about a $160 rate. Simply because, for the area, it is "too good to be true."
But I agree with you on your fundamental point and think it is sound. A wise man would not reject a provider simply on the basis of her rate falling below some arbitrary number. If he found her interesting, he should do some digging and if she is suitable, he should see her.

I really agree with vnurse...I also have been offering the rates between 150 and 170 for quite awhile..this does not mean ..I was a sw moving on up,,never have I been a sw,,also insinuating that because the rates are lower theres a habit to support..thats very insulting to those of us that are clean and are just trying to survive in this economy...And think that cuz the rates are lower they are running guys through their spots like a cattle drive..
Ladies step outa the box a minute and see..not everyone is in a city where the economy
can handle the bigger fee's...not every lady is a sw..and not every lady in this hobby has a habit to support....
i know you can find great providers that offer a great rate and there are no strings or issues attached to them..gentlemen..do your homework..there are great ladies out there
whose rates are within your budget..just do your homework...anita...

Thanks all! My therapeutic clients still only pay $60 per hour so the additional $ is good for me and good for them!
SW turned Indie? ME? THAT is funny! I'm a nurse, have always been a nurse and probably will always BE a nurse. I would have no problem at all making very good money just about anywhere. I CHOOSE massage therapy as it allows me the time required to take care of my dad who is disabled. I LOVE the freedom of being self-employed and not being tied down to a time clock somewhere. I CHOOSE to have "special clients" because it is fun and breaks up the monotony of same-same.
Cheap prices, high prices, in between prices...there's someone for everyone, I suppose.
Laurentius, I TOTALLY see your point about the area but since I do and have only worked here in Fort Worth, I never even THOUGHT about that aspect.

VN you have me curious. What is a therapeutic client base, regular clients?
A wonderful woman explained her rate structure to me as very practical, with a history of working well. Some providers request 200, 250 even 300, her rate was around 160 or 180, and had been for years. She is decidedly old school with limited advertising. I don't want to speak for her, but I think she feels at that rate she has a steady, reliable base of regular repeat clients. I know her opinion was at 250 a gentleman may see a lady every few months, 180 every few weeks, and she is the lady they see. fwiw she indicated her client base is educated and successful, and has been problem free for years.
This has nothing at all with ladies who request 250 or 300+.
It's just what works for her.
I am sure there are other approaches and opinions.
Oh, VN, I think I need therapy, hell I know I do

Agree most completely with honorable lady. Rate, either high or low not determine worth. Situation and economic climate do determine affordability to client. Applaud lady whose exclusive clientele can afford expensive fee. Likewise most appreciative of provider whose monetary requirement make incalculable service available to gentlemen of modest means. Have good fortune to experience service of both exclusive and more pedestrian professional, and found great pleasure and comfort from both. In every case where thoughtful and professional service rendered this unworthy client leave ladys presence with grateful heart and profound wish that meager purse were sufficient to render more proper reward.

Sorry to be confusing, Niktu.
I am a licensed therapist and have my regular, therapeutic clients. THAT is my client base.
Then I have my "fun" clients. These are the gentlemen that I have become better acquainted with and partake of my extra relaxing sessions.
If you have any other questions, feel free to give me a call or shoot me a PM. Oh and if you need "therapy", maybe I can help you out!
