Default New Orleaners .. some questions for you

I've always found the city fascinating and think finally geared up to making a trip.

Since I've never visited before, what is good time this summer to come to town for some R&R, jazz, drinks and fun?

Any recommendations on where to stay? What to in the city?

Trip will be mostly fun and may be some biz.

Jazz fest ends this weekend, if I am not mistaken. But there is always jazz playing in little out of the way clubs in New Orleans! The French Quarter or the Garden District are good places to stay. Anyplace on Bourbon is good to catch a drink! There is something for everyone in New Orleans!
Enjoy your visit!

New Orleans can be a fun city.....just stay away from those "dark" streets! Have fun sugar!

There's ALWAYS some fun to be had in NOLA. But if you can't tolerate tropical-type heat, avoid July, Aug, and Sept.

Stay in the Quarter - it's the heart of the city.

Default Summer is slow

In the city. This is good and bad. You can get really nice rooms for next to nothing. The heat and humidity is overwhelming. There are so many things to do as a visitor.

Streetcar ride down St. Charles Ave. Take it all the way in the evening to Rock and Bowl and get a taste of some great local music.

Unfortnately, Jazz is harder to come by. Preservation Hall is your best bet.

Go hear music on Frenchman Street.

If you have never been to Bourbon Street, it is something you should see ONCE!

Food! Best in the country! If you like seafood, you will be in heaven.

Have fun in New Orleans Laissez le bon Temps Roulle

Not really. You just gotta know where to look. Start at Snug Harbor on Frenchman....
