Yes of course but they get processed into jail and in most cases codis or fingerprint analysis will pick up who they are after they are processed and waiting on their appearance before a judge. What you are saying is that some really bad dude is going to knife you in the holding cell or something because a strip search like the one we are talking about wasn't done. They do a search of you before you get thrown into the holding cell and it is pretty damn thorough. Trust me if you have someone that mentally imbalanced out to take out rage on anyone they won't need a device they will just use their hands..
If you are getting all your information from a reality TV show then trust me it isn't like that. They show the worst of worst cases and they make it seem like this happens every day. It doesn't.
So you want your grandma to be forced to get completely naked in front of ppl that could be male or female depending on the facility and have to lift her boobs in front of them, bend over naked and let them put their fingers up her hooch for a minor traffic offense because someone in the holding cell might stab her in the eye with a toothpick?
Hmmmm.. not sure which would be more traumatic for her..lmao
She may choose the toothpick stabbing!

my gran is dead
if she wasnt and went to jail I'd pretty much want the fuckers she held hands with to be unarmed of anything, toothpick stabbing in an eye included.

You know not a bad idea since those machines can pretty much see everything down to your bones if they wanted... why not put a couple machines in there and run people through it on minor offenses? Naaaah.. that would make too much sense!

And they would not even let me keep my orange suit, tie sring, and flip flops.
In Harris County, they segregate inmates by age. I was in the 50+ crowd, and in all honesty, "old mans jail" ain't really that bad. At least, not for 3 days.

yea you were processed (intake) that is. When you first get there if you remember Jackie they take your jewelry, money wallet etc.. then you go to the little partitioned area before you actually get into the holding cell and there they do a search partial strip search.. unless it is different for guys..they check the hemming of your clothing and take any shoe strings, ties ect. Then you go to the area for fingerprinting, camera shot and all that.. then they take you to the holding cell.
Now from what your saying that must have been a time before they started cracking down on Harris County for severe overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.. people were actually getting sick and dying in those holding cells! I bet some of the guys were sleeping on the hard concrete floor huh? With the toilet paper roll for a pillow?
Anyway I digress, then when you are being processed into jail you go to the shower room area and your completely naked and thats when the really invasive shit goes on. Then you shower and you get a towel then they march you all half naked with a towel to the nursing area for medical evaluation. After that your handed your "oranges" and a blanket. Then sent to the jail area to your assigned bunk.
In all honesty I don't think people who have never been in jail really understand. CJ posting the tv stuff just kind of tells me they are watching the hard core reality shows and most times it is not like that at all in reality.
So Jackie you and I have both been there did you recall someone stabbing someone, or someone beating someone up while you were there?
I never did. Most were too afraid to cross the guards.

You know all this jail talk, I think more Americans have been jailed for minor offenses more now than in the 60s-70s. I know attorneys and doctors who have gone through this crap for minor stuff. Use to be a time Jackie if your the age I think you are.. when they just gave you a warning or a ticket.. or if you were intoxicated they just took you to your home. Your never quite the same after an experience like that are ya?

Sexy, I plead a class A down to a Class B with the stipulation that I would do three days, pay a $5000 fine, but when I got out, that was it. I could have taken their dipshit "2 years probation" crap, but I said I wanted to get it all over with. When I walked out, I was free and clear. The Judge even let me pick the week end to do my "time".
I will even tell you what it was. A handgun violation involving a CHL. I made a mistake and became a criminal.
There is a lot more to the story as to why I was actually in jail for three whole days, as most know, you get "2 for 1", so I should have only been there 18 hours. But, they screwed up my paperwork, and it finally dawned on them that they had kept me way longer than they were supposed too. You know how it usually takes about 8 hours to proccess out, well, they had me out of there in 45 minutes.
With an apology from the shift Captain, and a check for 18 hours good time. I also suddenly became Mr.........
I was 55 years old then. I am 65 now.

The young man part isn't all that bad either. Not a place I would recommend for an overnight but not as bad as people make it out. I have had no desire to return!

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who did just get out of the Harris County Jail for doing donuts and wheelies and stunting on his motorcycle. He said what you said Jackie that he had to get naked and shower and do the whole oral cavity search thing before getting into the holding cell. So I guess the procedures are different for women. Hmmmm.... I wonder why?

Then you better be sure the people you are picking up are guilty of major crimes before you strip / cavity search them. The constitution is there to defend against unreasonable search and seizure not to abide rabid notions of the the vengeful, the populace and law enforcement.

OH Man this shows what a slut I am. I HOPE each time through is a strip cavity search. I've been in the hobby long enough to know some really good moves. I want to use them outside the hobby SO flipping bad.
But politically and realistically no I'm against it. Damn I'm such a poser for right on this topic.

CJ7, that was kind of my point. You don't know if they are a Timmothy McVey when you have them in custody for jaywalking.
And secondly, why is anyone in jail for such minor infractions of the law anyway? That alone speaks of overreaching law enforcement.
