Question Lawns in SA

OK so I'm not use to having "grass" in my yard in S Cali. So after coming out here with pets, I'm finding out what bugs, fleas, and ants are all about
My question is with all the rain lately need to have the grass cut when it's dry; does anyone know of a good lawn person who will cut and use weed eater on it for a reasonable price and is dependable? I'm near Medical Center.
Also does anyone know what is safe and non-toxic to use on your lawn for bugs, fleas, ants?
My pets have always had flea treatment and are not use to going outside and getting bitten

Call Terminex for the bugs --- I use them in Louisiana and I dont have any bugs --- Also use Comfortis if you have a doggie --- no fleas at all ever

So afraid to give my dogs oral flea control, especially my seizure condition dog. Once it's in them if they get sick they have to ride it out. The oral flea control has actually killed or almost killed dogs that I know I use topical and that has always done good.
Apparently the lawn has not been treated here, but I contacted some place like Terminix and they said ALL pets would have to leave for like 5 hours? To me that's not non-toxic

Talk to your vet for what pest medication you should use for the critters here. I just use frontline.
For lawn stuff you might want to try a thing called TaskRabbit. People bid on your tasks such as handyman stuff or just about anything else.

Good luck.

I agree you have to be careful what you give your dog. I once gave him Sergeants Gold ( A topical) for flea and tic prevention and I almost lost him. an hour after I applied it he had a seizure. Had to rush him over to an animal ER and they had to keep him overnight. tThat was three years ago and now I only give him preventatives prescribed by our vet. Currently he is on the oral med Comfortis which he tolerates well. For my backyard I use Cutter's Backyard bug control.( From HEB) You just have to keep your pets off it until it dries. I've been using it for two years and my animals are OK

Princess, I have a friend who owns a pet friendly pesticide company. He only uses natural ingredients and is amazing! Be very careful...it's getting into TICK season now! I'll PM you hon.

i use a store bought pesticide (Spectracide i think) that attaches to a garden hose. I have 5 dogs and never had a problem with it. Like any pesticide, you need to keep the dogs inside until the pesticide dries. Once it dries it is safe for dogs. I have never had a problem with bugs, fleas, ticks, etc. and I live out near the country.

Great thanks I will check in to it. There was something I read about called ANTIdote 3 n 1, that kills fire ants and fleas and I guess something else? They said it is non-toxic, but I couldn't find it anywhere
