My point simply was this wouldn't need to happen if Congress would get their heads out of their asses. They vote themselves pay raises and have better benefits than the military they "love so dearly". They can go fuck themselves. I don't care if there's a D, R, or I next to their name - they're standing by and allowing military benefits to be cut while they vote themselves annual pay raises.

the defense bill of 07 (for 08) was veto'd because it froze Iraqui cash/assets here in the US. The bill also contained a 3% pay raise for the military.

granted there is more politics involved than anyone on this or any other board will ever come to grips with, but at first galnce it made 43 look like a fucking traitor ... you can bet the farm the boots in Baghdad dodging roadside bombs didnt make it past first glance ..

The point is that this is what the President wants. The final bill will be much different, as usual. But the President wants it this way.
