You people amaze me. I would like to think that you are raising a stink about this for crass political gain and deep down understand that an apology is not only appropriate, but essential in a case such as this. But maybe y'all are truly so fucking stupid you just don't understand.

How would you feel if some foreign arm showed up in the U.S., uninvited, and occupied our country and started raining missiles down on civilians in significant numbers, killing tens of thousands. Then, just for shits and grins, the soldiers of that country started burning Bibles. You fucking morons go ape shit when somebody burns a flag, for God's sake, in a political protest. And that's a secular symbol, not a religious one. Given that difference, one supposes that it's burning would provoke less outrage than the burning of a religious symbol. So now these invading foreign legions are burning Bibles. You're telling me that you fine representatives of the American Taliban wouldn't be all pissed off??!!!! Give me a fuckin' break.

Of course, if it was a cross burning in some poor black family's yard, I somehow suspect your sense of outrage might be muted a bit, eh??!!

This is what the board has come to. People setting the record straight on what type of wacko they are.

As usual; TexasHogBoy has all the facts of the case wrong, and leaves out many more that undermines his case.

Let me point out a few...

1. Afghanistan was the country of operations harboring the group that declared war on us.

2. The burning of the koran was an accidenta. Not done on purpose.

3. When the Islamic crazies burn our bibles and flags we do not act in the same way - killing their citizens.

1. True

2. Ok then why are you so aganist an apology?

3. Maybe if they were in our country burning our Bibles, we might act differently. Have you thought of it like that?

Oh come now! You don't really expect meaningful "thought" from Whirly, do you?

the burning was not an accident, but an error in judgment by the officer in question who ordered it.

the books were already desecrated; the prisoners were writing messages on pages of the koran. the burning should have been on a less public site.
