and in the military -- if you didn't want to participate in "Golden Flow" - that definitely was your right and then I simply instituted administrative actions to allow you to become a member of the "unemployed" group. Very efficient!!

Pepper - you have to realize some people on this forum and those who create these programs have absolutely no earthly idea what life is like in the real world. They have their own mind sets based upon whatever flavor of Kool-Ade it happened to be that day and will constantly reply through copy and paste techniques instead of using common sense.

Maxx ==> great thread..
So simply for the hell of it, you know like 2%, expand intrusive government and the bureaucracy it will create, put the cost on the taxpayer for the drug test, because you have to reimburse the recipient you forced to pay for a test they then passed and all of this for the wisdom bestowed upon us by dennis and those like him…….

"then I simply instituted administrative actions to allow you to become a member of the "unemployed" group. Very efficient!!"

Dennis, I hope your lying about having that kind of power in the military because that really scares me. You haven't demonstrated one iota of the judgement necessary to have such responsibilities and I can't imagine who would give it to you.

"reply through copy and paste techniques instead of using common sense."

As far as cut and paste do you mean the one you did here?

What was his "compromise?" Make the insurance companies pay for it instead!

Obama's latest mandate is nothing more than a shell game. Religious organizations and Christian-owned businesses will still be paying for insurance plans which will, in turn, give "free" contraceptives and abortifacients to their employees. Where in the constitution does any president get the authority to mandate that private companies provide services or products for "free" to consumers?

The American people are not stupid (no matter what some Liberals here think about Conservatives), and realize insurance companies will simply pass the costs on to the insured. That's you, me, churches, and every other religious institution, including EVERY Christian-owned business, that provides insurance to its employees.

ObamaCare continues to violate religious and moral convictions by forcing Americans to pay for drug-induced abortions.

Congress has promised over and over to repeal ObamaCare. It is time for them to act...and to act decisively.

WTF is this dennis? This is a "cut and paste", why are you not offering the link or putting the text in quotations ?!?

You repubs hate "cut and paste" don't you? Are you a hypocrite dennis? I think you are.

http://www.afa.net/Detail.aspx?id=2147517341

Why are you posting articles from the American Family Association dennis?
The SPLC(Southern Poverty Law Center which tracks the KKK and groups like it) has listed this group as a hate group. Why are you using their propaganda?!?

I tend to be a little more sympathetic. I know there are people who game they system, and frankly in any sort of structure, there will be people who try to take advantage of it.

I am not ashamed to admit I utilized state assistance, it helped put food on the table as I stood myself up after unexpectedly separating from the military. Texas veteran's assitance and Pell grants put me through my undergrad and Federally backed student loans got me through Grad school.

So, now it's my turn. Last years I paid over $25k in taxes/licenses/fees/permits out of my own pocket. I don't mind, I don't mid a bit, because like I said it's my turn. Someone else did it when I needed it, and perhaps my money is helping someone else achieve their goals.

Now, with that being said, I think anyone drawing a dime in the form of wages or assistance from the government ought to pee in a cup. From the President, to state legislators, to county road crews to the lady drawing WIC assistance.

OT > you are not the norm. I applaud you - you were more than deserving of any assistance you may have received. You are one of the few. I thank you for your service to our beloved country. I raise my glass to you

Now your talkin sense, I'd go for that and to include any damn bank
CEO we have to bail out and all those government contractors like Blackwater and Halliburton that have cost us billions in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
I was in the same boat when I lost my job at AT&T 3 yrs ago and I didn't have to go unemployment because I had money and now I'm at work but I'm not about to demonize anyone for having to get unemployment or welfare, now ask me when we have a better economy and decent working wages then I lose sympathy

That doesn't make our country screwed up. People should use their drug money to buy some fucking groceries or pay their fucking bills. Period. Fuck handouts to those people. The mentality that people are owed a living is fucked up. No one is owed anything. You make what you want of your life and if you choose to spend on drugs rather than bills then you should be left out on the street to rot. No one is demonizing all poor people, just those taking advantage of the system.

1Nemisis - of course those in the military have guns. How else do you think your right to say whatever is protected?

Do you really think all those who receive government aid do not have guns? Look at the high rate of violence in the projects? These people have guns so they should have to piss in a cup just like the military.

A very small percentage of those taking drug tests in the military fail too. So based on your logic, we shouldn't be spending the time or money to test them either.

Pepper - I love how fiesty you get. you go girl!

You obviously didn't read my post, I said that worrying about this 2% crap and not even recognizing the real threats that are costing us trillions is just lost on you isn't it? All for what? A screwed up urge to go after who? WTF for? To pour billions more into a drug war that we've lost, to put more people into prison over a marijuana cigarette?!? To pour more money into the Prison Industrial Complex? To create another government agency that we'll have to pay for?!? Really?!? And just fuck the 4th amendment right? 2% right!?! Fucking amazing

What??? Your equating welfare recipients to the power the military gives it's soldiers right?!? The million dollar fighters and transport planes that fly over San Antonio everyday is somehow equal to someone on welfare practicing their 2nd amendment rights? That's what your saying ?!? I don't know what to say Tex…...

God forbid I treat women like an equal rather than coddle them, unlike dennis, who thinks all women want is to be agreed with and patronized.

While we're arguing over piss and pennies, this is what's happening to our democracy:

Have you heard of William Dore, Foster Friess, Sheldon Adelson, Harold Simmons, Peter Thiel, or Bruce Kovner? If not, let me introduce them to you. They're running for the Republican nomination for president.

I know, I know. You think Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Mitt Romney are running. They are -- but only because the people listed in the first paragraph have given them huge sums of money to do so. In a sense, Santorum, Gingrich, Paul, and Romney are the fronts. Dore et al. are the real investors.

According to January's Federal Election Commission report, William Dore and Foster Friess supplied more than three-fourths of the $2.1 million raked in by Rick Santorum's super PAC in January. Dore, president of the Dore Energy Corporation in Lake Charles, Louisiana, gave $1 million; Freis, a fund manager based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, gave $669,000 (he had given the Santorum super PAC $331,000 last year, bringing Freis's total to $1 million).

Sheldon Adelson and his wife Miriam provided $10 million of the $11 million that went into Gingrich's super PAC in January. Adelson is chairman of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Texas billionaire Harold Simmons donated $500,000.

Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, provided $1.7 million of the $2.4 million raised by Ron Paul's super PAC in January.

Mitt Romney's super PAC raised $6.6 million last month -- almost all from just forty donors. Bruce Kovner, co-founder of the New York-based hedge fund Caxton Associates, gave $500,000, as did two others. David Tepper of Appaloosa Management gave $375,000. J.W. Marriott and Richard Marriott gave a total of $500,000. Julian Robertson, co-founder of hedge fund Tiger Management, gave $250,0000. Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman gave $100,000.

Bottom line: Whoever emerges as the GOP standard-bearer will be deeply indebted to a handful of people, each of whom will expect a good return on their investment.

Worrying about the 2% is worth while. The issue is how. Drug testing everyone always will probably be cost prohibitive. An alternative could be random drug testing so that those on drugs might opt out of even trying to apply for benefits. That actually makes me wonder if the 2% result in Florida was because those who could not pass the drug test did not apply. It would be an interesting study. I agree wholeheartedly with Pepper that if a person can afford drugs they don't need our help.

What real threats costing trillions are you referring to? Obamacare?

As for the drug war I actually agree with you. I wish we would quit wasting money on it.
