Is there supposed to be any real reason why phone numbers are mixed letters and numbers on BP.

When I was on BP I used to do that. I don't remember the reason but it was not a logic one. lol

Both Craigslist and Backpage are rich sources of phone numbers for scammers and solicitors and others that don't have your best intrests at heart. Scammers use web bots to gather phone numbers and bombard your phone with telemarketing calls. These are not the kind of people that would respect a "Do not Call List".
