Default More Money, Down the Tube

Getting pretty tired of the President lining the pockets of his green buddies, and then they go under. Here's another one. This is starting to look like a pattern.

I like how you tend to clip and save from bloggers, you know...real journalists, that tend give you troll fodder. This from the bottom of the page: "The opinions herein are not supported by any community or organization. It is just the personal opinions of a blogger."

So, prove to me it isn't true. If it isn't true, I will retract it. Simple, really.

Retract what? There's no opinion there other you making a blanket statement and then posting some biased link, letting the article make up your vapid view.

Rep Dingell " “I have yet to be presented with a single piece of evidence that President Obama, Vice President Biden or any of their staffs used political pressure on D.O.E. to circumvent the normal vetting process, an assumption/presumption that my Republican colleagues continue to propagate for media attention,” he said."

Shit happens, companies fail.

Yep Obama is bleeding us dry; wait we are bled dry and have been on transfusions for a long time. Now he wants his blood from the "rich" so he can continue to give it to his buddies. I truly believe this is the most corrupt administration I have seen in my lifetime.

I find it interesting how Obama wants to destroy what has made us the greatest nation on earth by destroying the energy industies. There is a reason that these solar companies go under and that is because they spend like they got the money for nothing and the existing technology is not cost viable and never will be.

Our rig count in the US is higher than it has been in decades! How is that destroying the energy sector. The energy sector is doing better than it has in decades!

We will eventually run out of oil and we need to spend money for research into other fields. There will be a bunch of hit and miss there. No different than going into space. You will find things you never would have found had you not tried.

I remember something in an article I read quite a while back ... the DOE was loaning $ to solar/energy companies to help them be more competitive with over seas companies who pretty much dominate the industry. Trying to build an industry that creats jobs is bleeding the country? Who knew?

May 2005: Just as a global silicon shortage begins driving up prices of solar photovoltaics, Solyndra is founded to provide a cost-competitive alternative to silicon-based panels.
July 2005: The Bush administration signs the Energy Policy Act of 2005 into law, creating the 1703 loan guarantee program.
February 2006 – October 2006: In February, Solyndra raises its first round of venture financing, worth $10.6 million from CMEA Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and U.S. Venture Partners. In October, Argonaut Venture Capital, an investment arm of George Kaiser, invests $17 million into Solyndra. Madrone Capital Partners, an investment arm of the Walton family, invests $7 million. Those investments are part of a $78.2 million fund.
December 2006: Solyndra applies for a loan guarantee under the 1703 program.
Late 2007: Loan guarantee program is funded. Solyndra was one of 16 clean-tech companies deemed ready to move forward in the due diligence process. The Bush administration DOE moves forward to develop a conditional commitment.
October 2008: Then Solyndra CEO Chris Gronet touted reasons for building in Silicon Valley and noted that the “company’s second factory also will be built in Fremont, since a Department of Energy loan guarantee mandates a U.S. location.”
November 2008: Silicon prices remain very high on the spot market, making non-silicon based thin film technologies like Solyndra’s very attractive to investors. Solyndra also benefits from having very low installation costs. The company raises $144 million from ten different venture investors, including the Walton-family run Madrone Capital Partners. This brings total private investment to more than $450 million to date.

So it's Bush's fault. Beautiful. Obama went there and touted the place as it was going down. Then gave it a $500 million loan guarantee. You are welcome to your opinion, but you don't get to choose your facts. Sorry.
