Default How to ensure a bill won't pass

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A Missouri lawmaker has proposed legislation that would require members of the General Assembly to be subjected to random drug testing during the session.

Brattin's measure would require that any lawmaker who tests positive for illegal substances would be removed from office and prohibited from running for any elected office for two years.

The bill has been assigned to the House General Laws Committee, but it has not yet been scheduled for a public hearing. (lol..ya think )

It would be funny . . . probably would not have enough for a quorum to even vote.

Exclamation Imposed Measures

Certain disciplinary measure must be imposed from higher authority because people are people who will side step it if they can find a way.

Every reputable place of work now has mandatory drug testing as a condition of employment and it is not up for debate.

If you left it up to the workers to vote on the measure, it would never get passed and they would give you plenty of reasons why not.

Such measures must be Federally mandated in order to work.

Ah, yes, people are too stupid to handle themselves. We MUST have the Federal Government hold our hand and point us in the way of righteousness. All Hail the Federal Government!

What bullshit.

Ekim, please read before you post. You'll sound less stupid, maybe. FG said drug testing should be federally mandated.

Now, go back to your therapy.

I find this bill amusing. I'm in favor of it but quite frankly I don't think anyone would ever let that pass.

I have always been in awe of Nevada's lack of a state income tax! Yes I live in Texas which doesn't have one either and I am a firm believer that Texas is the greatest state in the union!

However, way back when some brilliant representatives in Nevada got a bill passed into law making it illegal to even introduce a bill for consideration suggesting the creation of a Nevada State income tax! The last time someone tried to put a bill forth bringing up the state income tax in Nevada that person was arrested by the Sargent at Arms and dragged off to jail from the House Chambers. That deserves a round of applause!

If you would pay attention, you would know that I was responding to FG's ridiculous post, which now requires that I respond to your ridiculous post. This is getting ridiculous.
