Overall, aside from almost complete racial homogeneity, I think they have to be the most disciplined population (and most racist) on the planet in many ways. I remember taking a Japanese business associate out to the river and letting him go to town with a .22, the look in his face was pure, unadulterated joy intermingled with disbelief.

His life was really something, he lived in the company dormitory for unmarried men, and for fun got drunk in the company canteen while singing the company song.

A life so controlled by society just can't be a good thing:

I just can't come up with a reason to want to be like Japan.

Of course, there are guns available in Mexico provided by the US government. If you are a murderous drug lord, we will happily sell you any gun you want.

Think about it.

I'm sure you will find the right answer: TOTAL GUN CONTROL.

No single person should own or use a gun!!!!

But hey, america is a war hungry country, so of course people want guns.

My personal opinion: NO ONE SHOULD HAVE / OWN / USE a gun except for LE.
You really might wish to reconsider your position on this statement. I'm sure you've heard of this thing called the First Amendment? Well exactly how do you think that is protected for you? The answer is by the Second Amendment! Citizens owning guns and able to use them is the method by which all your other rights are protected.

A government should have a healthy fear of its citizenry! It helps to ensure they it will be a government of the people, for the people and by the people.

It has been stated many times the majority of the guns identified in Mexico come from the United States. This is liberal political misnomer!

Point of fact: The clue here in this statement is identified! The United States is the only country which requires serial numbers on guns and all their components. In addition, I cannot honestly remember the last time I walked into Bob's Gun Store and bought full automatic weapons and RPG's! These are military grade weapons and are coming from former Warsaw Pact countries who sell their arms to anyone. Also it is much more likely (and has been proven many times over) corrupt Mexican officials are selling their countries military grade weapons to drug cartels to line their own pockets!

Now do I think some guns purchased in the US make their way to Mexico? Yes of course! There are the occasional 357's, 45's and 9 mm's, along with various rifles making their way across by unscrupulous persons and this should be stopped! But this is a mere fraction of what is flooding Mexico due to players like China who is the chief manufacturer of the much vaunted AK 47!

Now on to Fast and Furious! Our Commander in Chief and his incompetent Attorney General Eric Holder. By letting guns walk into Mexico they allowed dangerous weapons into the hands of drug lords, Mexican citizens killed as result and more importantly Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry killed by a weapon they allowed to cross! Holder can't even say the name of his own agent in testimony nor does her show any sign of remorse over the death of this fine agent! This was a travesty and Holder needs to be prosecuted and fired over his handling of the entire affair! Furthermore he has continued to perjure himself in front of congress and conspired to deceive and obstruct the investigation on all fronts!

All I have put forth to this point is verifiable fact and can all be researched very easily. But as I write this I also want it to be known I firmly believe this entire sordid venture was engineered to back door our second amendment rights and allow the government to severely limit or perhaps even take away our sovereign right to own and carry firearms as citizens of these United States!

Remember! The second amendment is the one amendment that protects all the others and your ability to keep them! Because a government should have a healthy fear of its citizenry!

Also here's a little something to ponder as well:

both germany and russia made it illegal to own guns in the 30's and 40's. We all know how that turned out. Millions of innocent people were killed.

Why did Hitler not invade Switzerland? Because almost everyone owned a gun and could therefore protect themselves.

Taking away guns from citizens is absurd. People like waverunner need to realize that criminals will always find a way to get a hold of illegal guns and that taking away the right to own a gun from a citizen prevents that person from defending themselves.

Waverunner ... try an experiment. Ask your neighbors if they own a gun. If they do, ask them to put a sign up in their front yard stating that they own guns and that you do not. Which house do you think a criminal will most likely invade?

ooh, you just gave me an opportunity to post a link about Switzerland.

Germany did have plans to invade Switzerland. Fortunately for the Swiss, they were a low priority issue. Its prolly for that reason why Nazi Germany never got around to invading Switzerland.
