Man those dating sites suck, definitely a woman's market. Seems like you have to hold some strong looks to do well on those sites. Certainly not an ego stroker.

I looked into it and a few other dating sites but wasn't too impressed. The ladies seemed snobby. Not long after, I found the hobby and haven't looked back.

Some of the "Sugar Baby" sites are interesting...and the playing field is far more equal

But certainly they would not be classified as dating sites, I guess more glorified hobby sites

Every girl I know who uses POF or Zoosk or any of the "free" dating sites gets inundated by the guys. I know girls who are not lookers by any means but they get literally 20+ messages a day from guys. Unless you are good looking or can write one HELL of a "hello" e-mail, you are probably not going to get anywhere.

Sounds interesting but I'm sure the same thousands of swinging dicks will be on there, not to mention, seems like a breeding ground for scammers.

Not sure how old you are, but your age could be a factor.

Men in their late 40's and 50's are in demand on the dating market. That is, if you are trying to find someone in your same age range. If you are looking for a hot 20 year old, you are going to strike out.

Back when I was more actively dating, I had a lot of luck through Plenty and Match. But again I was looking for someone in my age range.

That fact that I had a job, kids all grown and knew how to be a gentleman all helped. Even though I like to think that it was because of my rugged gook looks. :-)

Yes, age appropriate is a big issue. My sister is on there, guys older than our parents message her ALL the time. 4 days after she put her profile up she had 13 PAGES of messages. Most of them from guys that really should know better.

Never understood why the older guys hit on the younger ones, if they are truely looking for a "serious relationship."

I've raised my kids, don't want to raise somebody else's or start a new family of kids.

I've used OkCupid but had no luck with it either. I've only messaged ladies within my age range (+/- 3 years). Out of the messages I've sent, only two have responded kindly stating they aren't interested. The others just ignore. It is sort of a bummer. I have way more luck just talking to women IRL at a bar, though they tend to be ladies I wouldn't want a long term relationship with. Life can be a pita sometimes
