No one is questioning whether or not it was right for you to cancel. The issue is whether you should give the escort some sort of compensation for your cancellation. And, to the escort, the reason for the cancellation should be irrelevant as the cost to her is exactly the same.

Personally, I'd apologize profusely for such a late cancellation, ask to reschedule, and hope she doesn't hold it against me.
