It's amazing just how many people in here who belittle the poor as nothing but lazy ass whiners looking for a government handout want us to believe they give generously to charities that help the lazy ass whiners looking for a government handout.
Sorry, i ain't buyin' your "it's not the government's role" crapola. It's not your role, is how you truly feel. And if you all don't think that comes across loud and clear in your posts, you ain't too bright.

Jackie S., MrGiz, Marshall, You are the kind of guys that make me puke, you and your attitude is whats really wrong in the US. You would really tell a hungry child: stop whining, don't you know that you are filthy rich? Well, his tommy doesn't feel like that, it's hungry, it needs food, it doesn't understand why people are so mean.
Do you guys also go to church every Sunday? I wouldn't be surprised.

D'Rufus, don't impose your religious beliefs on us you flea bagger.......

Well
being a communist really is a pretty good gig, if you are at the top of heap living in you Dacha, as the masses in the gulags slave on in order to support your expensive lifestyle.
Of course, there is that mass murder thing that you always seem to have to live with, but hey, all for the good life at the top.

Blah , blah , blah. . . the same olde dimwitted , brainwashed , conformist twaddle from the usual sources! *Don't worry... I wouldn't have expected you to buy anything. . . I too, hear your self-righteousness loud and clear.
One simple fact remains.... you know not, what you speak.... I don't have to be very bright to have the luxury of knowing that!!
BTW.... you're still whining...

Yup - sure ya did. And i stated the implicit conservative argument explicitly in post #59...and i seem to have pissed off MrGiz.
By the way MrGiz, COG (and many other conservatives, in fact) disagrees with you on the problematic nature of the growing income disparity in the country. Is he a whiner too?

I agree with you, concerning the growing disparity in the econimic ladder.
We just disagree on the manner in which it should be fixed.

I don't know what their positions are, but you flea partiers tend to call libertarians and moderates conservatives when they are not.....many non-conservatives want to call themselves conservatives because they know the overwhelming majority of people in the US lean RIGHT......if it clucks, it's not a horse......
I don't see how income disparity is ever a problem.......I believe in a free society and you don't.....a free society will always cause income inequality because smarts, hard work and risk taking among people are unequal......
the capitalist system is the greatest force to lift the poor out of poverty.....any policy which perverts or inhibits capitalism is ant-poor......
as to the poor, I don't trust the politicians to take care of them.....the Founding Fathers didn't trust them either.....the FF believed that by limiting government, you limited corruption and incompetence...like the FF, I trust the people to take care of the poor.......
study after study has proven beyond doubt that conservatives are kinder, more generous people than liberals......if conservatives could have some of their tax money back, they'd have more money for charitable giving.....why can't conservatives have their money back so they can donate to the causes and people they CHOOSE to, rather than the scum the liberals want to give to to buy votes...........
Doofus, you are the biggest HYPOCRITE on this board. You are also one of the most, if not the most, IMMORAL people on this board. You're a fucking communist and anarchist.....you don't truly give a fuck about anything....you are the worst type of SCUM......
Since my return, I was hoping my presence here would force you back into the mental hospital......you feeling unstable yet?! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
BTW: I'd put my charitable deduction up against yours any day you fucking Obamunist-racist-mother-fucker.........

I am NOT a conservative! And I also cannot defend the status quo, because the income disparity is alarming. This is not a result of capitalism, it is evidence of a creeping fascism, in which the government and big business work together in order to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor and middle class. Idiot conservatives think we have a capitalist system now, and we do not. We are run by Wall Street, Big Oil, Big Ag, and Big Pharma with full cooperation from their cronies in government. The poor and middle class have every right to be upset, but what worries me is their calls for even more government to redress the problem. That will only solidify the Government-Wall Street complex, and the idiot conservatives are playing right into it, by failing to address the real problem. Instead, they want to maintain the status quo, which is failing.
And you can be sure when they drive the final nail into the coffin of liberty, a Republican will be holding the spike, and a Democrat will be holding the hammer. And they will congratulate each other on their sacrifice to protect the poor. Treasonous bastards.

I wouldn't characterize them as lazy, but stupid and unduly opportunistic to rip off taxpayer funds.

no shit you are not conservative, because if you were, you would know that status quo is not a conservative goal.........income disparity is a concern of commies, not freedom loving people. of course, it may be a symptom of a problem, but certainly not a disease....you say it is the symptom of crony capitalism, maybe. If it's getting worse, maybe that's just a symptom of the internet's emergence in the economy similar to the wealth creation generated by the various waves of industrialization.......crony capitalism is anti-competition.....conservatives love competition in the free enterprise system.........
when it comes to crony capitalism, who is more at fault? Is it the businesses that buy politicians, or the politicians who sell themselves? Me, I blame the politicians more....I can understand why a business would be afraid that the powers working against them will buy the politicians first and disadvantage them.....by powers working against them I mean anti-capitalist groups trying to have regulations imposed on businesses.....businesses try to get ahead of the curve....when they see regulations coming on, they do the best they can to try and control that process.....I am completely sympathetic to business, but have no sympathy for the politicians.....

why should it be fixed? If you won a raffle and received a $5000 prize, aren't you happy at your good luck? Will you be less happy about your $5000 winnings if you found out I won $1,000,000 in the lottery? You shouldn't be........
people should be happy they're doing well, not unhappy somebody else is doing better......as Naomi says: jealousy is mental cancer.......this "kill the rich, rape their wives and sell their children into slavery" attitude of the occupy-eccie crowd is ugly and unhealthy......

However, we now have an accuser who is not muzzled by a gag order. She has provided specifics. I have no idea if the specifics are enough to bother Republican primary voters. But if the gal is credible and believed by swing/personality voters, it would hurt him in the general. Which means that the establishment Republicans can't ignore it. They will see it as more evidence (not that they really need any more) that they have to bring down Cain no matter what the price.

I watched the press conference, and I think she's lying. Gloria Allred is a well known publicity whore, a feminist Al Sharpton, if you will. And if all Cain did was what she said, then I guess we need to revisit the Clinton defense, and the Ted Kennedy defense. They are only trying to hurt Cain politically, they don't give a shit about morals or "the country." If they did, Teddy Kennedy, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton and the like would never have been elected. It's hypocrisy, pure and simple. I don't support Cain, but I know bullshit when I see it, and this is bullshit.

Actually, Gloria is a very good lawyer. How and why she got into this publicity whore business I'll never understand. But that doesn't seem to be reflective of the accuser's credibility to me. And frankly, whether she is believed won't turn on that sort of thing in any event. It's how Cain handles it and how this gal handles her media interviews.
But your response is telling about one thing. Republicans -- largely because they view sexual harassment claims negatively -- don't care one way or the other. Independents and Democratic voters do care and care deeply. It will be a real Rorschach test is Cain gets the nomination, which I persist in believing is not at all likely. I just don't see the Republican establishment letting him fuck up their chances of beating Obama. And whatever else you think about Cain, conventional Republicans clearly think --- rightly so, in my mind -- that he's unelectable.
