Default What happens to newly discoverd money after estate assests are dispersed?

I've heard about that unclaimed money website and wanted to know who does it belong after the estate is closed out?

It belongs to the heirs or the estate.

Once money goes to the state unclaimed fund, then you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to claim it. At some point it escheats to the state I guess, but not sure when that happens.

If I understand the question, the executor just needs to re-open the estate to collect the money. I think he is required to post a bond or something, so small sums of money probably ain't worth it.
