My 5 cents. If you feel more comfortable calling or texting from the drive, its just fine. If you would rather not, thats fine too. I would hope we can communicate freely enough to know whether or not to call or text... Of course if you are running late or early please let me know. I should be ready early for the just-in-case scenario and I like to spend some time 'playing' to make the visit more intense....

I use the rule "treat others as you want to be treated" with anyone I see. I ask that a friend contact me when he's on the way and I will give him my room number and vice versa. If ever I am not arriving at the time agreed upon, I always call or text to let them know. Just polite! I would expect the same courstesy.
