Default Time To Get An HPV Vaccination

It's enough to make me start smoking again. But not enough to give up muff diving:

I don't think the vaccine is age sensitive; probably works for any age.

Thank you for posting, it certainly goes as a reminder to some Ladies that might not get tested as regularly as they should or that miss and forget to reschedule their paps.
It blows my mind that knowing there are so many scary STDs out there and all that some guys still ask about BB... that is insane and so careless
Getting tested is extremely important, I have always (long before providing) gotten a pap and requested std testing every 3 months when I get my depo-provera shot. Now that I provide I still get my 3 month pap & shot but I also get blood tests every month. It isn't just to keep myself safe it is to keep the community safe.

There's a lot of discussion on here regarding the safety of CBJs over BB - to which I subscribe wholeheartedly. But I've not read much about us gents who tend to be somewhat orally oriented ourselves taking precautions with our bounteous feasting. Anyone here using oral dams, or something else like them?

Not judging but many guys are too generous with who they'll go down on. That's not something I do for just anybody and I never hold it against a provider who wishes to play it safe as well.

On another note, Merck is going to great expense to hide and repudiate the dangers of their Gardasil vaccine with studies sponsored by themselves and public relations.

What are you to do? Don't go diving into every crotch you see with your mouth wide open. Be safe, kids.

Ah but the FDA has now recommended that males 12-13 get the vaccine. Given the nature of things it probably is a good idea ... and Jokacz I'll have a chat with my doc

Kids have died from the vaccine. I don't know why they wouldn't have to tell people that, but somehow they get away with hiding it.

RE the safety of the HPV vaccine:

The Food and Drug Administration approved Gardasil in 2006 for girls and young women to prevent cervical cancer and genital warts caused by some types of HPV. But complaints have emerged about the marketing and cost of Gardasil, and some parents have raised concerns about its safety. A new report (at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/vaccines/hpv/gardasil.html) by the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that serious complications had occurred, although the rate and severity of most side effects appear to be consistent with those of other vaccines.

Reports of side effects and complications following vaccination are collected by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which is managed by the FDA and the CDC. The reports are unconfirmed and not necessarily related to the vaccine. In a 2009 review of the data, the agencies reported that more than 23 million doses of Gardasil were distributed between 2006 and 2008, and 12,424 reports had been filed. Most of those were not serious and involved pain and redness at the injection site, dizziness, nausea, headaches and fainting.

But 6 percent of the reports were serious. They included blood clots and Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disorder that causes muscle weakness and tingling that can progress to paralysis. There were also 32 reported deaths, but they had no common pattern that would suggest they were caused by the vaccine. In most of the cases that had medical documentation, the deaths were linked to other factors, such as diabetes, viral illness, illicit drug use and heart failure.

Gardasil is an inactivated (not live) vaccine that protects young women against cervical cancer and genital warts. After reviewing available information, the FDA and CDC continue to find it safe and effective.

On a personal note, I suspect the “Religious Right” at work doing their worst again.

+1 Lexxxy.

I just saw this on the news last night and think that it would be great for both males and females to get the HPV shots. Especially since men can be carriers of HPV.

Test the waters before you dive in. And as Lexxxy said, testing after is important too.
