Their own citizens are fleeing these states to places like Texas !!

The fact is that a middle class household (earning $60K to $90K) can afford a much better lifestyle in Texas than they can in California !

More affordable neighobrhoods, affordable homes, affordable private schools, affordable healthcare, affordable domestic help, etc !
Whirl what you don't understand is the reason they are moving business to Texas is because of cheap labor- if you want to boast about a potential GOP candidate who governs a state with one of the lowest minimum wages in the nation go right ahead- it also has one of the worst education systems and health care systems. Why don't you compare California's health care system to Texas or the education system either public or Higher- how many Ivy league schools or top tier schools does Texas have? How is the health care system in Texas??? You better hope no one either hits you while driving- Texas has the most uninsured people in the nation and you think Perry should be President LMFAO!!!

Again they are moving to Texas because it's the closes state that offers something close to sweat shops.

Whirlway by your analogy I guess the United States must really suck because a lot of industries are moving jobs to India, Thailand, Mexico and other countries rather than employ people in the United States- guess the U.S must really suck since they are flocking to other countries.

And in terms of cheap labor with no fringe benefits being able to steal jobs from other States, OK, I can understand that. But if Perry is President, stealing jobs from other States doesn't work. Is he going to run wages all over America into the ground so we can steal cheap jobs from Mexico and China!! Whoopie!!! I can hardly wait.

Yes. the economic polcies/future of America suck = high taxes, over regulation, failed economic plans, high unemployment, trillions of un-funded liabilities, and a debt load that we can not possibly pay off !

Does that sound like California, Michigan, et al????

Wellendowed: this is liberal dogma speak..........lower cost labor is one reason they are moving; over regulation, high taxes, and a host of other factors make up the complete list of reasons why busineses are moving to Texas..and your dogma is disputed by the surveys that show higher quality of life in states like Texas over places like California, Michigan, NJ, and NY.......you want to ignore the facts, I understand !

If you are trying to make the point:

1. Where is it better to be a poor unskilled illegal? You might have a case that it is better in the sanctuary cities of California that are close to the beaches and mountains and have a generally higher level of government assistance available at no cost to the illegal; with little to zero chance of being deported. And if you get lucky and get hired by the State of California, then you hit pay dirt with over the top pay and benefits !

The first Texas city mentioned is Killeen. At 83 of 105. Numerous cities from MI listed.

You make the mistake of assuming that limited to no regulation and low taxes are good for the society as a whole.

While those factors may be good for business, all things being equal, there's nothing to really suggest they're any better for society than the low wages are.

Low taxes are good for the people that have to pay them. Since they are the society I would conclude thet they are good for society. As for limited regulation Stossel has had many examples of where regulations are unnecessary. Most companies will behave in a responsible manor because it is in thier best interest to do so. Those that don't will end up failing and if the management acted criminally they can be held accountable.

Low wages for entry level positions are good for society. It provides employees an opportunity to get experience and training so that they can move up to higher wages as thier skills become more valuable. High mandatory wages are terrible for young people who need entry level and part time work.

Anyone who can't spell 'their' and 'manner' correctly deserves a low wage. They obviously need more training and career development, and watching idiots like Stossel on Fox News does not qualify.
