I've had Kaspersky on my MAC for the last year. Way friendlier than Norton and has worked just fine for me. Just make sure you set your preferences for run mode automatic, check all the threat boxes, and to update automatically.

Default It okay, but....

They have had some problems. Norton is considered the gold standard. There are better programs, but not as user-friendly as those two. As always, safe-surfing is the best defense against nasty viruses! No tube porno/torrent sites!!!!!

The following is a very good free anti-virus tool. The updates are free as well.

Avast!

If you are on a PC, microsoft offers Security Essentials for free.

I run the Free version of AVG and Security Essentials and have had no conflicts.

And as previously pointed out, safe surfing is the best way to keep viruses off your computer.

Avast is free and highly respected as a good one. ZoneAlarm is a free firewall.

I've found the "big guys" (Norton & McAfee) tend towards bloat. Kaspersky has been one of the better paid programs.
