I have several persons on my buddy list. Is there a was to privately chat, other than going to the chat page?

The chat page is the only page on this site where you can chat.

Your only other alternative here for a private conversation is to use PM's.

I didnt even know there was a such thing as a buddy list. Guess I still have a lot to learn about this site

left click on the handle of the person
click on Add _________ to Your Contacts

On the site from the past there was that ability.

As far as I know, this site does not have that ability.
