Default IMF Boss Dominique Strauss Kahn alleged hotel rape

Hmmmm, i don`t want to sound believing in conspiracy theories, but does that sound fishy? Right before the fundings of countries like Greece and Portugal and such things were granted by exactly that person, he - all of a sudden - needs to rape a hotel maid??
And now -hmmm - who is president now and what happened with the funds?
Birds whisper that now the funds are not so generously given to these european countries anymore.

First thing that makes me suspicious: A hotel maid is not allowed to clean up a room when the guest is inside. WE all know that. I had to oftentimes convince the maids to clean my room when i was inside. Its standard procedure. So - my question: why was she in there? Was she cleaning up the room?

second thing: He hired escorts from some agency in NYC and all of a sudden needs to rape some random housekeeper? Sounds "staged" to me, to say the least. hmmm....

I consider to be all wrong but i want to put that here to open it for discussion.
Seems nowadays all kinds of people who are hard to get a hand on (remember Julian :-)....) all of a sudden rape random people who - hmmm - might well be financially benefitting from some sort of staging. Not saying it is true, but it might be worth considering.

There is too much money involved to not consider that also a form of stage. And to put it on the blunt side: Even more reason for companies to hire female mabassadors, because accusing them of rape might be A LOT harder.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund, at his arraignment.

The Manhattan maid who accused a French big-wig of sexual assault is not HIV positive - and did not consent to sex in his midtown hotel room, her lawyer said Wednesday.

"Absolutely not," attorney Jeffrey Shapiro said on the "Today" show when asked about a published report saying the 32-year-old victim lives in Bronx housing set aside for people with AIDS or HIV.

"She lived in a sublet apartment in the Bronx," Shapiro said. "That's outrageous."

He also said the woman was ready to testify before a Manhattan grand jury Wednesday about what happened in politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn's room in the Sofitel New York hotel.

Attorneys for the jailed International Monetary Fund chief said there was no evidence of a "forcible encounter."

"I think that when a jury hears her testimony and sees her in person, when finally she's going to come public with this and tell her story, I think that their claims of consensual sex or encounters" will be exposed as bogus, Shapiro said.

"There is nothing consensual about what took place in that hotel room."

The victim, a single mother who immigrated from Guinea, told police she was chased and attacked by a naked Stauss-Kahn while cleaning his hotel room on Saturday.

Straus-Kahn, a Socialist Party official considered a front-runner for the French presidency, remained locked up on Rikers Island pending a Friday hearing. A judge turned down his request for $1 million bail.

Exclamation Conspiracy

I think the story about the IMF head being arrested is a very interesting story, Nina, but there might be something about your conspiracy theory.

I posted a poll about this a couple of days ago along with a link and a picture to the story, but someone quietly and very quickly took my thread off the board.

I don't understand that at all. That such a powerful man would be taken down makes for a very dramatic story, but yet someone censored my thread.

. . . What is going on with this board anyway?

I have discussed this at lenght yesterday with friends of mine and the story just sounds "too good to be true". I thought it makes for an interesting discussion. Have not seen your thread.

And now the New York Times publishes a story saying the woman was living in housing that is exclusively rented to people with HIV/AIDS.

other sources say she does not have HIV. But i guess that is not really relevant. Except he got it, which might be hard to proof - its not THAT easy to get HIV, especially for a man, but if he confesses he might get the antiviral boost usually people get shortly after exposure. :-)).

So MAYBE they held that against him, but if he did not do anything, he must not be worried at all and can refuse the treatment.

But for me this sounds more than fishy and "staged" to say the least. I don`t believe a word of it. The guy paid tons of dollars for high class escorts, why would he rape someone ? And exactly now and exactly in NYC. My god. And - worst case scenario and i don`t want that to be misunderstood, because its not politically correct: IF a guy like that raped someone it would be so far under the table that you need goggles to see some dirt because it would be so cleaned.

The story sounds so strange because of exactly the way that sexual assault is extremely hard to proof. So the words spreading that far so soon and him actually getting arrested... its fishy to say the least.

Lets put it blunt: i do not believe a word of it and i don`t believe he did sexually assault anyone.

Your argument reminds me of the “Billionaire Boys Club” affair from the early 1980s. Rich scions resorted to theft and murder in order to have even more money. Sometimes there is no way to account for people’s behavior.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn to face fresh sex assault complaint
French writer Tristane Banon claims the IMF chief acted like a 'rutting chimpanzee' in an attack on her nine years ago

A French writer who claims Dominique Strauss-Kahn sexually assaulted her nine years ago is to file an official complaint, her lawyer has announced.

Tristane Banon previously described the attack, which happened when she was in her early 20s, in a television programme in 2007, when she called Strauss-Kahn, whose name was bleeped out, a "rutting chimpanzee."

She says she consulted a lawyer at the time, but was persuaded not to take action by her mother, a regional councillor in the Socialist party and friend of the Strauss-Kahn family. Banon is goddaughter to Strauss-Kahn's second wife.

Banon's lawyer, David Koubbi, said: "We are planning to make a complaint. I am working with her."

Strauss-Kahn was remanded in custody today after appearing in a New York court accused of a sexual attack on a hotel maid.

The 62-year-old head of the International Monetary Fund – who was widely tipped to be France's next president – was refused bail by the judge, Melissa Jackson, who ruled he might attempt to flee the US. His offer to post bail of one million dollars was turned down.

DSK, as he is known in France, will now stay in prison until his next court hearing on May 20. He faces charges of attempted rape, sex abuse, a criminal sex act, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching and could face up to 25 years in prison.

Strauss-Kahn denies the charges.

Koubbi said Banon, now 31, was "literally blown over" when she heard the claims Strauss-Kahn had attacked a hotel chambermaid in New York. "At the same time, she was certainly not surprised," he said.

Across France, after the shock of Strauss-Kahn's arrest, came speculation, self-pity and conspiracy theories.

For some, the story of Strauss-Kahn's fall from presidential hopeful to prison cell was a combination of sordid tale and Shakespearean tragedy. For others the story was so extraordinary it smacked of a set-up.

Only three weeks ago, Strauss-Kahn evoked such a possibility in an interview with French newspaper Libération when he said he thought he was under surveillance and named the three principal difficulties he foresaw if he was to stand for the presidential elections.

"Money, women and the fact I am Jewish." He added: "Yes, I like women ... so what?" He said he could see himself becoming the victim of a honey trap: "a woman raped in a car park and who's been promised 500,000 or a million euros to invent such a story ..."

But not in his or his Socialist party's worst nightmares, nor in President Nicolas Sarkozy's wildest dreams, could anyone imagine Strauss-Kahn, nicknamed with almost tacit admiration the 'Great Seducer', being at the epicentre of what was described as a "political earthquake".

Jean-Marie Le Guen, a Socialist party MP who has known Strauss-Kahn for 25 years, said the story was "not credible" and inconsistent with what he knew of the politician's character. "Seduction, yes, but no way would he use constraint or violence. A certain number of facts, and certain aspects of the story we are hearing from the press, make this not credible."

He said Strauss-Kahn had not fled the scene of the alleged crime as reported but had lunched in New York before catching a flight booked weeks previously.

France-Soir reported that when plain-clothed police officers approached the politician in the first-class section of the Air France plane bound for Paris, he looked up at them and asked: "What's the matter?"

Le Guen said his friend knew he would be the target of mud-slinging but added: "What they are asking us to believe … it's just hallucinations. I'm a doctor and I know this can happen. We knew there would be hyper-violent attacks on him [Strauss-Kahn]. We could hear the knives being sharpened in preparation."

Libération editor Nicolas Demorand suggested France was having its first sex scandal "à l'anglo saxonne" and was "brutally entering a zone of public debate which, up to now whether because of the cultural exception, the 'latin' identity or democratic weakness has been confined to rumours and gossip among a small inner circle".

"Politicians … enjoy a particular tolerance on this subject," he wrote. "Part of the shock comes also from the unusual scene, until now unthinkable here: police arresting a top-level politician on a matter of morals."

There is sympathy for Strauss-Kahn's third wife, television journalist Anne Sinclair, who Le Guen said was bearing up with "strength and courage".

In a spasm of self-flagellation, political commentators spoke of the affair as a disgrace and humiliation for France, referring to the country as "the victim" in the affair. Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, the ecology minister, did at least mention the 32-year-old chambermaid allegedly attacked by Strauss-Kahn. "As well as the presumed victim, the chambermaid, there is a proven victim … France. We should remember the facts are very serious; in France we tend to treat things like this a little bit lightly," she told news agency AFP.

Of the pictures of Strauss-Kahn being led in handcuffs by New York police, criticised by some, including Le Guen as "hyper violent", Kosciusko-Morizet said the French politician was a suspect like any other. "I have confidence in American justice … it's so French to see conspiracies everywhere, it's something I believe that's in our culture."

The Socialist party was holding an emergency meeting to decide on how to react to the crisis in its ranks. Two months from the closing date for the party's primary election in October, Strauss-Kahn was the opposition's main hope of unseating Sarkozy."

Regarding that story its also interesting that the french never extradited Polanski. And Polanski also had numerous way too young GFs.
NEvertheless, a woman having been assaulted 9 years ago filing claims now... hm..... because now its convenient. The article mentions the honey trap . well, we will see..

OK, for those who think he is being "set up" - what's the motive and who's doing it?

To me it sounds like another arrogant, elitist Euro got caught indulging his inner demons. What's his counter argument? He thought she was another one of his high priced called girls acting out the hotel maid fantasy and he never heard the pre-arranged "safe word" so he continued?

Why not here, but liable to be blown out of the water in the General section?

I posted my thread on this topic in the General section because the story is relevant with broad appeal and frankly, I still think that's where it belongs, but if it was considered to be in the wrong section why not just move the thread instead of deleting it?

I thought maybe Eccie had brought in some of the heavy-handed mods over from aspd who reveled in closing threads and banning people like rogue bandits with no oversight.

. . . God forbid that Eccie follows the downward death spiral of aspd, but that wretched fate seems possible with overzealous mods!

The basic question to ask with any conspiracy - especially one in which the outcome is so high profile - is how many people had to be involved to pull it off. The more people involved, the more locations involved, the more difficult it becomes to pull it off without anyone finding out about it.

This case is very very high profile. to really pull it off there would probably need to be cooperation of some sort from the hotel, NY DA, NY police, mayor's office, some people at IMF, and others I know I am not thinking about.

Not saying it can't be done ..... but it would be incredibly hard to keep it quiet.

darling, also americans do such things, they just don`t officially flirt/fuck with women like europeans do. That is all. No difference there. Its just handled differently if a man in europe is married and has a mistress than its in USA. So you americans are not the "better" people nbecause you keep your exploits relatively private and don`t visit BROTHELS for discussion of business matters like europeans do. (lol)

i already pointed out why i thought a set up is possible in my first post. Its a monetary issue.

I think though that the americans have their revenge now regarding the non extradition of Roman Polanski (which i do find outrageous) so they were strict with him (no bail) because they know the french don?t extradict.

ALso, a source that comes forward 9 years after a supposed attack is not a reliable or even trustworthy source. Even IF he did attack her, she has lost credibility. What did they pay her to shut her mouth and what did they pay her to open it right now.
People who go with the flow when "sexually assaulted" are as guilty in my opinion as the ones who attack them. If she was assaulted she should have reported it and prevent another fellow being from being attacken.
That is my opinion. I don`t buy into victim theory when it comes to "talking about it 9 years later". Also , news reporters getting hired like escort is nothing new. Many of them work "on the side" as one of these 5000 plus euro candidates.
So , i mean it can be that its all true, but nevertheless, its a bit strange, considering all plausibilities.
I am not defending him, he might be guilty as shit, but a man of his power, sorry, they have measurements to avoid people speaking.
I just believe its kind of too funny right now this happened.
He might have been easy to set up, because he is a typical french chauvinist, so
again: women in power mifght be easier to handle.
