Mandy, the windshield guy ought to be able to salvage the stickers so you don't have to replace them .... still think you ought to get the fix and paint before the windshield, but have someone do it who knows what they are doing ...

FYI: Maaco will probably over spray the trim around the windshield. Wait a couple of months before you try to clean it up.

That's because the actual kind hearted people I've met here and on other boards over the years didn't slap me or every other hobbyist in Houston in the face. You did Brooke Wild. But it pales by comparison to what you tried to do in the above link when you were getting enough attention. You still owe BDS a public apology in my opinion.

Mandy is one of the sweetest girls I've met, she has been nothing but kind and charming to me and many of my friends. I'm really sorry she wrecked her car and if any of us thought you were actually trying to help her the responses to your post would have been very different. Reasons:
1. Touch up any rust beneath the windshield and trim there and the area can be painted to preserve it a little longer;
2. Overspraying of the trim and "rubber" molding (and windshield).

Just make sure the folks that do the body work preserve the windshield or the area with the stickers so the stickers can be removed and remounted on the new windshield.

Mandy...check around on prices on your windshield. I've used Safelite in the past several times and I have been satisfied. http://www.safelite.com/?WT.srch=1
For them to come to you and install a new windshield would be about $202. This price includes labor. They will also replace your wiper blades for about $22. I suggest replacing them with the new windshield.

Just ask the body work folks, if they remove the glass, and they should, to "hold" the glass (can tape up the smashed part to keep it intake) so the installer can salvage your stickers.
