Hi, I am briefly in Rochester (not working) and I'm hoping for recommendations for dive bars and good sandwiches. Anything special that is going on tonight or Wednesday would also be appreciated.

Hey I would generally recommend MacGregor if you just want a bar with good beer selection on tap and pretty good food.

If you want some of the best bar food in Rochester, go to Windjammers on lake ave by the beach. It is a total dive and the food is great.

Don't mind Jon......he was probably just drunk or bored too. Although the Allen Club is about as much of a dive as it gets....its definately not what you are looking for.
