Verification Process

Hey all,

Am new to the hobby, although have visited Thailand a couple times...

I'm a bit concerned about the identity tagging for P411 or other verification services, but understand the girls needing that assurance.

*How do we know that once we are "identifed" that this is not information that can be pulled or supeonoed at a later time?
*How does the process work? Although I'm single, I would not want my work or others to be questioned as to who I am.
*Is it a neccesity in order to hobby, or do you girls entertain newbies if we provide some form of verification?

Anything else you can help with would be appreciated. I've contacted one established lady twice by phone and twice by email & havent gotten a response in 3 days...making the assumption that since I don't have a virutal "tatoo of existence" that I am ruled unworthy...

It certainly is not a requirement to join a verification site such as P411 to hobby. There are many men who hobby regularly without it. Look for providers who advertise as "newbie friendly". After you have seen a few providers, they will vouch for you for other providers. It's getting to see those first providers that is the hurdle.

P411 is based in Canada and allegedly outside of "subpoena range" of the US. It is my understanding that once you are verified that they destroy your personally identifiable information. I am a member of P411, and it does making hobbying... especially out-of-state... a lot easier.

If i'm correct you either have a choice of giving them your info or if you've seen a couple of providers that can vouch for you, they'll give you membership. At least that's the way it was when I joined P411. Like Z said, it makes seeing out of town/state providers a lot easier.

P411 is handy if you travel.

I tend to keep my ECCIE handle and P411 ID separate.

Worked for me.. but I already had the p411 and datecheck. lol!

I've found P411 a good tool on the road.

Some places, though, I've found that it didn't do me much good. Got Date Check.

If you have enough decent references, you'll be OK. As ztonk said, it makes it much easier.

Of course, that doesn't mean that every provider on P411, Date Check or what have you is going to check her account with regularity.
