Wow, this is very sad to hear. I guess he chose to tell us his treatment was working well, when he knew he was close to the end.

May he rest in peace.

RIP... We lost a HERO. Any man that can do the job he had is amazing.
You have to be part Superhero and part genius. May god bless him and his family, may gods light shine upon his face and may he rest in peace.
I am going to miss his posts.

SPTL, thank you for a fitting tribute to a wonderful guy who touched so many of us with the openness and honesty in his posts. Clearly, he had many friends he saw personally and they must have meant a lot to him.

I prayed for him regularly to beat that disease and had high hopes that his youth and strength would pull him through. His passing makes me even more determined to go in good graces when the time comes so I can enjoy the presence of souls such as his.

Bless you for being there for him. I'm sorry the loss had to come so soon.

As I take a deep breath we exchanged messages a few weeks ago
and while he had that jagged posting style that irritated many but his courage and life as a tough guy I salute him for being one to stand on that wall and make sure our society keeps movin along

This is why CANCER must be destroyed There is not a single God Damn thing good about it This man died too young and with cancer I know it wasnt pretty Its a painful, life sucking plague that not only reduces you but makes you feel so so sick
It is so important that this plague be eliminated and every available resource I have expendable to me is going to go to fighting I can only hope that I am still around the day they cure this disease...

I never met this man in person but if I did the first thing I would of done is shake his hand for he was a defender of our country and secondly I know the fear and pain he was going through

You are in a better place God rest your soul!!!

This post just shocked me. I recently had a high school friend pass away, I hadn't seen him in a couple years... remember that no one is promised to see another day..
I never met you personally Nitwitboy, I now regret not taking you up on that offer to go have some fun at a casino. Nitwitboy and I exchanged pm's several times, I could tell he was a wonderfull man. Like so many of you said his post annoyed many, but I always grinned when I read his post. Nitwitboy, your post & pm's made me feel like you were a wonderfull person, fun, caring, and you always spoke your mind..which I LOVED... Cancer does take thel lifes of many people, at least now he does not have any pain or sickness to deal with, you will be missed. RIP Nitwitboy

Damn. It really saddens me to hear that he lost his battle with cancer. I never met the man, but I did send him a couple of PM's to wish him the best of luck in his battle with such a terrible disease. And he always replied back with such appreciation, thankfulness and such a positive spirit. It was easy to tell from his replies that he was a really good guy.

I always got a kick out of his love for his two dogs, (I believe they were both Boxers.) And I enjoyed how he shared with the community about what happened with his date with the cop.

Again, I never knew the man but just how honest and open he was on this board, I kind of felt like I knew him....I hope that now that his battle is done, that he has peace and tranquility on the other side.

And how could you not really like a guy with enough self deprecating humor to call himself "Nitwitboy"?

I also would like to commend the staff for making this a "sticky" thread because he deserved it. He will be greatly missed.
