one would presume the cost is much less. don't know what the typical cost is in the US but i'd be leery of the quality of care. don't know Costa Rico's overall health care reputation but i would research that above all else. many foreign countries have medical care that easily rivals the US like Thailand. there are quack hack surgeons in every country certainly, however in the US you'd have remedies that may not be available in foreign nations. As a US citizen i wonder how you would persue a medical malpractice suit in Costa Rica, if you even could? you certainly don't want to be in that situation but if it something did go wrong you should know your legal remedies.
