Default BBQ once again...........

I just ate at Franklin's BBQ off of 35E....... it was awesome! I really did not want to buy into the hype but a buddy of mine told me that now I don't have to go to Lockhart for good BBQ. Yummy and moist brisket that was juicy in my mouth. The sausage was ok, however. I can't vouch for the ribs but damn it looked juicy too. The portions were great, I was full on a two meat plate and I have a big appetite!!!

Check it out...

Went to Franklin's a couple of weeks ago... that was definitely the most melt in your mouth brisket I've ever had. And they slice it THICK! Worth the wait for sure!

Agree on the sausage. The ribs were VERY popular.

The special sandwich -- brisket, sausage and cole slaw is allegedly coma-inducing!

They're only open a few days a week (Wed-Sat) from 11 - til they run out!

FUCK! Now I've gotta go eat something!

Did it move? Two weeks ago it was a trailer in a lot on I-35 at 34th St. @ Concordia?

The link Sixx provided is where I went. The address he describes sounds like the gone but NEVER forgotten Ben's Longbranch BBQ. One of my all time faves!

I'd HATE it if they've already grown so big that they needed a building!

IS IT STILL A TRAILER? I AM DEPRESSED!

That said, has anybody tried the "Barbecue Heaven" trailer? I hear it's excellent as well. I had a GREAT sandwich at the Salt Lick trailer a couple of weeks ago on MLK at Rio Grande... smoked sirloin with carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato and habanero mayo.

Of course I shat my pants 30 minutes later, but that was some great grub!

UPDATE -- Just checked it out. FUCK ME! You're right! Well dip me in shit and roll me in cornflakes! I guess I need to go to the new location then. Thanks Sixx. I would have wound up confused and at the Blue Lady!

OR... I could just smoke some of the venison ham I've got in my freezer. If I can keep the pipe lit!

I drove past the Franklin BBQ today, but the line was out the door around 12:15p, so I decided to try another day. I have been before and this place is good. I just need to get there in line before they open.

Yeah, I got there about 1035am one of the first. I may hit it up sometime this weekend. I could have sworn their sign said now open everyday from 1100am till they run out!
