Default Any computer knurds out there?

I have a netbook by hp with a hard drive that has gone bad, and all my attempts to revive it have failed. It's a 1.8" PATA hard disk drive and for some reason those are not an easy item to find without ordering it directly from HP, or another online location. Anybody know of any computer stores around town that may have any in stock? No dice at Best Buy, and Frys has not been any better online. Thanks!

its a 1.8 or 2.5 pata? how old is this Netbook? all the ones I have seen use either SSD modules with a special interface (EeePC) or normal 2.5 sata's

It's a samsung model hs082hb, and it is a 1.8 pata drive. The netbook is a hp mini 1151nr. I thought it was gonna be a 2.5 too, but it's super small. It's about two years old, one year warranty ran out about 290 days ago.

Did you try CompUSA? They've hooked up with Tiger Direct, so if they don't have it in store, they may be able to get it for you.

My thing is; Amazon, NewEgg, Buy.com, etc. typically don't charge sales tax (no brick & mortar locations in TX). So if you can get free shipping on it, why not save a few bucks and not pay sales tax?

I hadn't thought of compusa, thanks D. I don't like shipping to my door because alot of the shipping companies won't take responsibility if the drive doesn't work on arrival, even with insurance. Thanks for the links Ivan, crazy to say HP is cheaper.

Thanks for all the suggestions, looks like hp is going to be my best option. It seems that apple bought up all the 1.8" drives they could to use for iPods. Took them out of retail locations.
