I'm not that old dude! (late 40's)
You've heard of the chicken chain called 'Grandy's'? The precursor to that chain was called 'Granny's'. The old Granny's in Denton used to have the Burma Shave signs hung in their restaurants.

Sorry for the hijack, now back to your regularly scheduled poetry...

My apologies. I remember them on the back roads of Texas when I was too young to drive. I'm maybe a decade older than you, so that was many, many years ago. Enjoyed the nostalgia of your post, BTW. Always thought they were really clever advertising.

Now, back to the original theme of the thread......

Default Color me bored .. half-assed poem.

I typed this out while listening to some hip hop and watching American Iron Chef (Bobby Flay won). Must have been two hours ago. .. It is what it is.

Adoring, affectionate amour, animate .. being.
Breathtakingly beholding, beautiful beauty.
Cherishing careless caresses, continuously dreading daylight.
Dampening early employment endeavors.

Fighting foreman, futilely.
Freeing, fleeting, feeling .. fancy-free.
Garciously gauging gainful gains.
Hurrying home .. hopefully, hoarding hearts hope, home has .. her. Ignorantly, I'm isolated, incomparably jilted.

Kinetic lovers, love lost. Longing lust.
Languishing.
Living life lifelessly, loathing lovers lively laughter.
Missing muse.
Minds' manipulating ... manipulated.

Numbed, nursing, narcotize, overly obtunded.
Pushing past pain, peacefully placid, pacified.
Quelling quiet, respiting?, reflecting racy romance.
Still surmising, still she stalks senses.
Sheepishly, seeking sleep.
Slumbering ... thinking, thoughts, thinking through timeless times. Therapeutically utilizing vast visions, wondering where woman wanders. Whatever, enough of thinking about the X. Y? ... I need some Zs.

.. eh. I was bored.

Note: This has NOTHING to do with "hobbying", it's just me spit-balling words.

OK, I didn't want to quote the whole post. But, wow, that's some creative writing.

Just wanted to add something to the thread, even if it was half-assed.

Thank you.
