Val Kilmer, who played Bruce Wayne in “Batman Forever,” channeled Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” and starred as a tubercular Doc Holliday in “Tombstone,” died Tuesday in Los Angeles. His daughter Mercedes told The New York Times the cause was pneumonia. He was 65. He had been battling throat cancer for several years.
Val had it rough the last few years. Loved him in several movies.
I really liked his performance in Wonderland, playing John Holmes.
I felt like I was watching Holmes.
That's my favorite Val movie, but whenever I hear his name, I always picture him as Jim Morrison in The Doors.
I didn't realize his acting career spanned almost 40years. I think I may spend Saturday night binge watching a few of his movies, starting with Real Genius.

Yes mam. I love it as well. My favorite part is with the bunny house shoes on.
I love The Saint too.
Loved him in Top Gun and as Jim Morrison.......he was a heavy smoker and had a tracheotomy. Pneumonia with a trach sounds brutal. Glad I gave up smoking in my 20's.
RIP Val, will live in our minds as that chiseled hunk Iceman.
Grew up watching his movies. I had to read it twice to believe it. Man. I didn't know Springer died as a guy said above me. He was a actually a cool cat. Heard him on the Carolla podcast.

That was the year Silence Of The Lambs nearly swept the Oscars.
Also I presume the Academy voters felt that the director of The Doors, Oliver Stone, already received a Best Director for JFK, which also was nominated for Best Picture along with 6 other nominations, they couldn't nominate him or another one his film in the same year.
