I was an air traffic controller for 24 years. I worked in a tower cab, as an approach controller and as a controller in an enroute center. I was also on the design team that reworked airspace and an instructor down in OKC. I also have a pilots license with an instrument rating and easily could have worked for the NTSB. Too late now, I like retirement.

I sure have heard some uninformed surmising about the cause of the accident the last few days. The Black Hawk pilots mistaking a departure for the inbound CRJ? That’s damn near impossible. If they did they need to go back to school. Too late now though, may they rest in peace. I have a very well educated guess but I won’t share it here.

In a very strange coincidence my daughter and son-in-law live on JBAB. The CRJ flew over their house just seconds before the accident. My daughter said she could smell jet fuel immediately after walking outside to see what was going on. My family and her neighbors were the lucky ones I suppose.

Do me a favor would you? Stop bitching at each other and go get laid instead.
