,,, Yes, it's all rather telling that the American people
support President Trump's tariffs - because they expect
Trump to once again WIN the issue and be successful.

And also rather telling that the liberal lads 'round here
surely seem to hope that the tariffs FAIL.

I'm totally amazed how much Trump cares about us and he already knows we can handle another price hike. I can't wait to see how we all will be winning again under his leadership. I want to be there when he gives out the paper towels again. Go Trump!!!

Yeah, paying 25 percent more for imported Poutine will likely break me, I might have to source it domestically.

How dare you shit upon Quebecois cheese curds?

They have the highest amounts of milk fats guaranteed by the Quebec government.

One man's cheese curds are another man's Caviar, or Salmon Eggs as we call them.

Point being, almost everything we buy from Canada can be sourced HERE.

The same cannot be said in reverse.

They depend on us.

And as Trump noted today, a 51st state wouldn't face Tariffs.

You say libertarian, but I detect sovereigntist in your tariff DNA. Trump's too

Do you agree these tariffs are PopSov?

Where in the treatise of Libertarian beliefs does it say to hate your country?

Further, what's good for the economy of the country generally raises the boat for most.

PopSov confirmed. Tariff structure. Xenophobia. Isolationist policy.

Hypernationalism. Reluctance to be in foreign alliances and militant push for domestic production using tariffs to stifle free trade.

Sadly. I feel like there's a 1926 ad they ran which sound eerily similar to this Tariff plan and his positions. Will see if I can find that.

Popsov?

Hyper nationalism?

No, just a more fair playing field.

I can go into an Aldi and buy German made potato soup, bad potato soup, but that's another thread, but Germans can't go to a Waldi, and buy American food, because we can't export it there.

Found it

https://www.reddit.com/r/USHistory/s/1MHj74lwWc

Interesting look at how old things come back around and positions shift.

Look at the tariffs part, but also the overall platform.

Populist sovereigntist. Not sovereign citizen. GM, you and Trump seem to align on the tariff part.

Look at the ad. Don't focus on the source or comments. That's a 1926 political ad for Republicans pushing protective tariffs

Did you know, in the late 18th to 19th century Tariffs were the US Governments main source of income, not income taxes.
