26,697,330 Americans receive SNAP food stamps (12.4% of the population).
9,300,000 live in subsidized or low-income housing (3.84% of the population).
7 Million get health care insurance subsidies, and another 3 million are on Medicaid.
That's not even 25% of the population, let alone divided up into political affiliation.
So smart has not a lot to do with it. Poverty does though. But dumb voters or poor voters' votes all count the same as rich and smart ones.
Just seems one side is concerned that these poor folks won't vote for them.
