Default Attorney General Ken Paxton Calls for House Speaker's Resignation. Was He Drunk?

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/texa...205922067.html

he doesn't sound drunk to me. He sounds really tired, or over-medicated.. Not drunk. What do you think?

Too late to test him, so he obviously won't resign.

I don't know, sounds pretty medicated to me. But a scumbag like Paxton, under several federal indictments for all kinds of sleazy shit, has a lot of nerve asking anyone to do anything.

How Texans keep voting this asshat back in office is beyond me.

For chrissakes CT, can’t we keep the political shit in the political forum? That last train wreck you started in the sandbox is still going on.

And shouldn’t we be talking about Tina Turner today?

Agree, and I started to go off on Paxton, but I wanted to keep the focus on ''was he drunk or not?''. Like a political topic might stay focused

Yeah, well we can't, because I publically ''resigned'' from that Den of Inequity well over a year ago. It may be that there aren't enough Grownups to discuss politics on ECCIE.

Tina Turner, great singer and Performer. My collection has strong representation, from Tina alone, and with Ike. When the Beatles and Stones both love you, as they did Ronnie Spector (R.I.P. as well), that tells me a lot about Artist credibility.

The story of how Tina fled from Ike, is a bit clouded. July, 1976, downtown Dallas. This article says July 27, others say July 4. This says she scurried from one hotel to another, I have also read that she jumped and ran from a Taxi on Industrial blvd.

Ike was at the birthing of rock and roll, with Rocket 88, and his work with Tina was probably the best husband and wife pairing in rock and roll history. But he was certainly the sorriest of human beings.

I never heard Tina referred to as the Queen of Rock and Roll, and don’t knew if I’d grant her that title myself (that title may not belong to anyone). She was a helluva entertainer, though, and she got her just rewards for her now more fabled solo career and 80s comeback, even if I think her work with Ike was far more consequential.

Yea, I am pretty floored and saddened by her passing. Being a former pro musician, I appreciated her work and admired her resiliency. Sad day for the music world.

I think most solo artists were ''better'' in the groups they were in, before going solo.

Paul McCartney
Ozzy Osbourne
Sting
Roger Waters
Lionel Richie
Phil Collins

But not all... George Michael, Michael Jackson, and I would say Diana Ross, too, were better as solo artists.

Tina was better with Ike. Their albums ''River Deep-Mountain High'', and ''come together'' are essential.

Solo, I like Foreign Affair (1989) better than Private Dancer (1984), it sold much more in Europe, whereas Private Dancer didn't click with European audiences. Of course part of that may be, because Tina moved to Europe (1986) between the releases of those albums.

I’d put Paul Simon in that same category as Diana Ross: incredibly successful group that was equaled by their solo careers.

I guess my point about Tina is that she’s better known these days for her 80s run. She’s not unique in that regard, but guys like McCartney and Sting (and certainly Waters…does anyone even care about his solo career?) are definitely more beloved for the groups that made them famous.

I need to listen to “Foreign Affair”. I had checked out on Tina by then. I probably missed her best record.

Good news, the Texas House has opened articles of impeachment against the creep!!! Though I doubt it will stick. And one of Trump's lap bitches got 16 years in prison for the Jan. 6th insurgence.

Now if we can get justice and get the orange bitch thrown in prison where he belongs, all will be good.

Good call on Paul Simon.

Foreign Affair is less ''exposed'' than Private Dancer, so it is more refreshing to me. ''Better be good to me'' even landed on the Miami Vice Soundtrack a year after its inclusion on Private Dancer. I'm a big sound guy, and Foreign Affair bests Private Dancer there, too.

The vote is tomorrow, a rare Saturday session. I hope they bring the hammer down. Paxton looked worried today.

I have to say, in my decade, and 34,000 posts on ECCIE, I don't think I've ever pivoted so sharply in one response post, as here, LOL
