Default Medusa Strip Club First Impressions

Although the new Medusa strip club (formerly Crickets) isn't having their grand opening until Memorial Weekend, it is open to the public now. The following first impressions are provided as a service to Eccie readers and I'd like to read what others may experience. There is only street parking around the area. A uniformed Pittsburgh Police Officer pats you down before entering. That's a nice safety concept but with body cameras and a comparison to mug shots, driver's license photos, or facial recognition, they could determine if you are "wanted" while you are inside getting a lap dance! The inside is totally remodeled with a nice new bar, artwork, lighted ceiling, spiral staircase etc. However the bar stools/chairs are too short for the bar and I felt like a little kid at a soda shop having to reach up to the counter to reach my drink. Top self alcohol was $9 a drink. Food will be available soon. Smoking is allowed. Lap dances are $35 or 3 for $90. However, I did not buy any as the dancers were at best, average. The music was all hip/hop & rap and very LOUD! When you see everyone leaning in to talk directly into a person's ear, you know the music is too loud. I got a headache after an hour and left. I felt they were trying to be classy but it was more like a "ganster" vibe. Your experience might be different so I just put this out there for additional reviews.

That “gangster” vibe is just modern. Hip-hop/rap has been the dominant genre of pop music for almost 30 years now. Do you expect a club that’s trying to position itself as hip and new to play “Pour Some Sugar on Me”? Not only is it the most popular genre, it’s the only genre where acts go out of their way to make strip club anthems. I promise you that’s the music the dancers want to perform to.
