You might want to revisit the definition of the word stealing. Doing work and getting paid for it is not stealing. Is a band who plays an under the table gig stealing? How about a kid who cuts grass for money? How about a prostitute who doesn't pay taxes?



I'm not mad at hard working non violent people for breaking that specific law. I'm not consumed with irrational hate and fear. I know some people who have broken that law. They're good people.

Stealing-the action or offense of taking another person's property without permission; theft.

The immigrants willingly do a job with the permission of their boss, and the boss willingly gives them the wages. The wages are the property of the boss, who with his own permission pays them to the immigrants, at which time they become property of the immigrants. In no way does that satisfy the definition of stealing. As for stealing jobs, I frequent a few establishments in Pittsburgh who hire these folks, and these places also hire American citizens, so that's another fallacy that you've regurgitated.

Furthermore, remember that according to many conservatives, "people don't want to work." In many instances, these immigrants are doing jobs that Americans don't want to do. If you don't want to support "illegal" immigration, you're going to have to give up eating meat, fruit, and vegetables. If you were able to wave a magic want and instantly deport all "illegal" aliens, this country would be in bad shape.

The use of illegal labor does have a negative impact on the U.S. worker.

But there's also a somewhat significant number of undocumented, non-employment authorized folks working in parts of the U.S. labor market where there's an actual shortage of interested workers. Especially in certain sectors of unskilled labor.

The reality is that there are costs and benefits from it. But this is a bipartisan issue, facilitated by bipartisan inaction and bipartisan negligence.

H-1B's aren't the issue. Family sponsorship is not the issue. The whole system is antiquated and out of step with how we kive and do business. We need legitimate, comprehensive immigration reform that focuses on all aspects of immigration. It need to be immigrant friendly, yet still firm. It needs to reward compliance without being too rigid and complicated.

I support a path to citizenship for DACA folks. I support providing a one-time no-fault pass to folks who are currently in the U.S. illegally, who willingly register and self-deport so they can pursue coming to the U.S. the right way.

I support permitting asylum applications at our consulates and embassies rather than the border, and growing the Dept of State workforce abroad rather than forcing this to occur at the border. Removing some of the third-party national restrictions to be seen by consular staff.

You're putting words in my mouth that I haven't said. I've stuck with the theme that I think it's wrong to villainize the immigrants in the way that berry does. Nowhere have I said that flooding the workforce with new workers wouldn't drive down wages, nor have I said that I support corporate slavery. I support a living minimum wage, and as I've already stated, an easier path to legal worker status. Now let's not go off topic about minimum wage. I'm just stating my position in order to dispel what you've falsely attributed to me.
