Thanks, I was just curious because it seems a little weird that it’s the only app that works and if you do have to pay for it, they now have your information.
Just saying
Enjoy and be safe

"It" "works" because it's NOT a browser, it's a mirror app. It takes a snapshot of a web site at a certain point in time, but doesn't have the full functionality, hence the time outs. You're not interacting with OH2 in real time, you're looking at a recent snapshot. Look carefully at the URL address. It may look familiar, but not quite right.
OR
Since the owners / operators of OH2 refuse to get a valid security certificate, parties unknown may have just pirated the entire site and are operating it for (?) purposes. It happens all the time on the dark web.
I am amazed at the denial and clinging to a site that refuses to get legit. 10 minutes and 50 euros and your can get a security certificate issued in Switzerland, where privacy laws are the toughest on earth. But then, I could never understand addictive behavior in any form.

The certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt https://letsencrypt.org/ a free, automated, and open certificate authority. If configured properly, a web server program will auto-renew a certificate set to expire in less than 30 days. It seems likely the Feb 2022 hack affected the auto-renew.

Let's Encrypt is worthless. It's free because it doesn't it doesn't do an automated cursory check to make certain that the servers hosting the website all have valid security certs and as a minimum, support 1,024 bit encryption algorithms.
You can submit my.kids.crayon.pictures.on.my. refrigerator.net and Let's Encrypt will give you a "certificate", worth less than your kid's crayon pictures on your refrigerator.
If you drink the popular Kool-Aid that the sire was "hacked", then you have to assume that all user data was captured and compromised.
If you follow my line of thinking, no legit hosting service would even accept any electronic data from a site lacking a real security certificate.
Both possibilities entail all user info being captured and compromised, including all account info, passwords and PMs.
But the cybercrack addicts gotsa have their cybercrack.....
Crack on!

Any CA (Verisign, GoDaddy ..) would issue a certificate as long as the server host can demonstrate control of the domain name using the ACME protocol (RFC 8885) for example.

eccie.net uses Let's Encrypt issued certificates.

Finally able to login OH2 this morning. It's been a few months I think since my last successful entry (pun intended hah).
Hopefully things continue to improve...

Passion - The mobile version is free. The desktop is $2/mo. All that you're doing is subscribing to a browser service. Shouldn't be anything to hide there. If you have an SO, go right out and tell her you're trying a new browser.... no big deal... going for more speed, or security, or whatever...

PUFFIN - These threads are getting weird for me. Finally everyone has figured out that the Puffin browser gets quick and efficient access to OH2. There are now MANY posts telling everyone that it works first time and every time. Then, the next 5 responses in these threads talking about not being able to get in and their frustration....trying other browsers and VPN's... some combinations may and do work.... but, I don't know how else to say it....
PUFFIN GETS YOU ACCESS FOR ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN. IT WORKS, FIRST TIME AND EVERY TIME.....
A'Man
