As for the linguistics professor...if she had been a history professor then she would have known that Elizabeth allowed her country to leave the empire without a war. She should be thanking Elizabeth...unless she is angry with what her own people did to the country after they became independent. Misplaced anger and stupid.

No for once I side with these folks. See how they cancelled her. Cancelled her free speech. The atrocities that monarchies have done is terrible. Especially the british royals! Only a few monarchies were worse. The dutch being one. But no one had a vast EMPIRE like the british. Slavery, theft of natural resources, theft of countries riches and cultural artifacts under the crown. The royals refuse to answer to this or return the fortunes they stole. Not to mention that their country allows them to keep these riches. The queen could have returned made good on this. But NO SHE DIDNT!

Once again, history. The worst? Hardly. Belgium, under King Leopold II killed a million Africans to mine copper and cultivate rubber. Russia colonized Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, et. al. as the Soviet Union. Millions of dead. Italy...Libya, Ethiopia. France...Vietnam, Algeria, Congo. Turkey...Armenia. The Persian, the Egyptians, the Zulu, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Mayans, the Aztec. All of these cultures (countries) subjugated people and made them objects for exploitation. Yes, England colonized long before Elizabeth. She, her father, and her grandfather colonized no one. In places like Kenya, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and the United States the English trained the locals to help them self-govern. Notice how easily all those countries took to being "freed" from being colonies. England trained those leaders to be leaders. I forgot India. Gandhi was an English trained lawyer before he returned to India to lead a freedom movement. England ended slavery with a vote of Parlaiment long before we decided to follow. The only real black mark in the modern day is Ireland. Very close, very violent, and very personal, Ireland was a problem and there is still hostility.

All I can say, crack a history book or two and blame the real offending parties not their grandchildren.

britains monarchy was one of the worst and i stand behind that. Their riches were obtained off others and taxes until their rule ended. Why are their any monarchies being celebrated in this day and time? Why should anybody give 2 fucks about any royal? Fuck all of em'.
