Look at several of the crucial Senate Races, in particular, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Oz is turning out be a scripted empty suite, and Hershel Walker comes across as exactly what he is, an inarticulate athlete who’s only claim to fame is he could run with a football, and as it turns out, stuck his dick in enough wome to have 3 illegitimate kids.

is IF Trump somehow decides NOT to run.
Though it's surely into the realm of possibility
that Trump might choose him for VP...

Your "logic" IMHO, leaves out who the Democrat nominee might be. It seems highly unlikely that Biden will run again and the Democrats will face the same dilemma facing Republicans and the dilemma that put Biden in office. Democrats took Biden simply because they thought he was more moderate than Sanders or Warren and yet Biden turned into Sanders and Warren and that is the reason the Democrat party has fallen like a rock. Biden took the party far, far left and now they will pay for that move.

While I completely reject the idea that DeSantis is far right, let's say for giggles he is. So what happens if the election is between a far Left and a far Right? We have known for a very long time now, though it is changing a bit, that the country as a whole is center right.
