Default What Pittsburgh landmark that is no longer there that you miss the most?

Is there a Pittsburgh landmark that you miss the most?

For me it is the Civic Arena followed closely by the sinkhole bus.

There was a girl named sherri that was always outside the laundromat on arlington ave. She was hot, good and cheap.

I also liked the downtown kaufmans.

I don't know if it was a landmark, but I loved Red the steakhouse.

Also, Pria.

Ah Tambellinis, my first taste of Scotch, like almost a fifth before the two of us dropped it and broke the bottle, and frozen but burnt Pizza, Tambellinis Pizza, practically the first frozen pizza I ever remember, and IIRC correctly puked back up.

Oh, and a drunken guy standing in an open lot of the Southside, saw him once, and used his location for years to give directions to my workers.

Also, the "Dirty" O, had to work down in the basement one time and the fuckers dumped their grease down the basements steps and it was like walking on ice, if you had seen what we saw, you'd have never eaten there again, and I didn't.

... Awhile back when I was living over WV-way, me bludger-mate
Chalkie heard that I was gonna be on the job over by Pittsburgh
university ("Pitt") one day - so he recommended that I try a
real "Australian tucker joint" that was near the college.

So like a droob - I listen to him - and I find the place he mention.
It was a bit of a walk from where me truck was - but I walked over.

The bleedin' joint was CLOSED UP... ... Had surely been
OUT OF BUSINESS for a good while... Had covers over the windows
and what-not.

Chalkie did me dirty that time... But no worrys 'cause
I surely returned the favour.

... Oh, was also supposed to ask you mates about the fates of
Dell-Kids... White Swans Park... and something called Inkwell Pools.
And Winky's.

Ahh, Winkys, home of the big wink. I liked Forbes Field, weird outfield dimensions which could make a liner to the outfield an adventure.

Not long before they closed, they added a deep fried Pizza pocket, think, giant Genos Pizza roll, it was great, never saw anything like it ever again.

And I had a Big Wink long before I ever even ate at a McDonalds, so, a Big Mac just wasn't right the first time I had one.

They also had great cole slaw.
