A couple months ago Congress called several oil execs to ask wtf is going on with gas prices. This (in a nutshell) is what congress was told:
1. It's our crude
2. We make our crude into our gasoline
3. We can charge whatever we want for our gasoline
4. There is nothing you can do to change #3

$40.27 a barrel in 2020
Supply vs demand & competive US pricing hit by having to rely on foreign oil is also a problem.

Are we still exporting oil? If we are, then why ask other countries to sell us more oil?

That's a long list of counties. Most countries don't like each other anyway. At least it seems that on social media, not in reality (Middle East excluded)😂

$5 per gallon seems insane.
I've been tracking my electricity costs for about 10-months. The rise in electricity costs on my RG&E bill since I've had the EV is less than half of what I spent per month on gasoline. That's based on gas at $3 per gallon. So, I ain't complaining, and I certainly don't miss the gas station. I only charge up overnight at home, I expect it would cost more if I was charging at stations.
