Natasha's talking about deveining shrimp.
Depends upon the size of the individual shrimp...
All restaurants should devein large shrimp.
Small shrimp is a judgement call.
However, if a customer notices.... it should have been done.
And by the way, it's not actually a vein, it's the shrimp's digestive tract.
So... what's at the lower end of any animals digestive tract??
Natasha's reaction to a restaurant prep failure is valid.
Info courtesy of a cousin of mine who has several ocean critter harvesting licenses.
TW, a small knife and a couple seconds of handling.

I travel to HTown three to five times a year. Usually I stay in the Woodlands.
Turlock and Lamdrys is the best.

Bayou City Seafood on Richmond just inside the W. Loop is one of the hidden treasures in Houston when it comes to good seafood.
It's has a genuine Louisiana Bayou feel and taste to it. The mudbugs are some of the best in town, when in season. I think the gumbo is the best in Houston... or certainly one of the best...

Pappas Seafood - Humble. I've eaten at nearly all of the "nicer" seafood restaurants multiple times and this Pappas is the best!
Honorable Mention: Monument Inn in East Houston.
A'Man, I love you, brother. But that shit is nasty!!!

bbkid, it's just a crayfish.
I've been to Bayou City.
Had most everything on the menu. It's been a while though.

Really? I live out that way and have eaten there numerous times and like it. Just never felt or realized it was one of the best. Glad to hear that.
