The Cold War is far from the memory of many (most) folks today.

While it may sound hysterical to say that the proposed restrictions on gun ownership in Caneda are a push towards Communism, it does fit the profile. Following WW-II, Stalin moved to take over much of Eastern Europe much like Putin is trying to do with Ukraine today, and Bellarose in the recent past. One of the first things on the agenda is to disarm the public. If that is not done, you get events such as the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

And not just Communist regimes. The totalitarian Fascists in Germany and Italy did the same in the 1930s. . . .they disarmed their own people.

That is why a look back at history is important.
